If we do this, we will have very few draft picks, correct?

If we get Snell and everything goes right in terms of health and recovery. This would be our rotation for the playoffs.

    Verlander
    Framber
    Snell
    Javier

    Middle relief
    McCullers
    Brown
    JP
    Urquidy
    Garcia

Closer as in shutting down anything after 6 innings
    Abreu
    Pressly
    Hader

Our starters would only have to go 5 solid innings. That's just sick. We would be better than 2019.

If Meyers has his breakout year and Abreu stays healthy, this would be the strongest team we ever assembled.

Bregman is hitting .323 this spring so far.
Might this be the year he heats up before July?

Bregman actually is pretty good opening week then for some reason falls off. He was actually AL player of the week opening week(end) of 2022.

So I'm hopeful but a good spring doesn't excite me (yet)

Bregman had no lingering injury issues to heal from this winter and worked super hard. Contract year. Start to finish. Gonna get er done!

Man. Pitching is a problem. I realize watching some of these games, they are getting looks at what they have. But the stuff this week from montero and abreu is a little scary.

Anyone know who Ryan Gusto is? He has 10 strikeouts in 4 innings a 0.00 ERA.

Underrated prospect. Overslot 11th rounder in 2019, missed all of 2021 with injury. Never had a k/9 less than 9 at any pro stop. Had really good numbers in AA last season. Doesn’t have overwhelming velo or movement so not sure how high his ceiling is but he’s one to watch.

I always pay alittle extra attention to 11th round picks. He has a chance to become a rotation pitcher but he has been on the periphery most of the time. My most valuable prospects list is 30 players deep and he has just missed at 32 or 33 twice that I can recall. I have him starting the season at Corpus and playing neck and neck with Blubaugh for the first promotion to Sugar Land. Not much chance we see him till 2025 but anything can happen

If the Stros need help internally, I could definitely see Gusto and Blubaugh in Houston sometime next year.

I feel like Mush would be just fine as the 7th or 8th guy in the bullpen. Yall are way too worried about this ****, truly. big 3 plus Montero are more than fine for leverage.
that only leaves 3 spots with a 6 man rotation.

Bielak, blanco, Martinez, Mush, all those guy would be absolutely fine to fill those spots- I can’t stress again how with a non dipshit managing the bullpen how little importance those guys are in the grand scheme of things to this team.

What on earth will we complain about every (other?) game?

No matter how many more runs saved by his feet or if he hits well, every time someone moves up an extra base due to his noodle arm, people will complain about Meyers.
