    I noticed this transaction today on Spotrac:

    Minnesota acquires 2024 1st round pick (#23) and 2024 7th round pick (#232). Houston acquires 2024 2nd round pick (#42), 2024 6th round pick (#188) and 2025 2nd round pick

    Must be a mistake. I’ve never seen a FRP traded for other picks prior to draft day.

    Cap move, second round cap hit is lower than a first and obviously they feel the talent is deep enough to where some of these first round graded players will slip into the second. The Collins trade was bad and this is Nick trying to clean it up

    2 reasons to make the trade.

    Value at the position groups or players from 23-42 is similar.

    Next years Vikings pick is expected to be very good.

    Collins trade looks bad on its face, but his 2025 salary is nearly all guaranteed (based on Spotrac). Trading him now gets rid of that burden. At the moment, there is very little fat to trim on the 2025 roster. I get the feeling they're gearing up to go all in next year in free agency before having to sign CJ Stroud to an extension in his 4th year.
