Smart teams do not spend all their money on 1 or 2 Free Agents with 4 or 5 year deals. You spend that money on YOUR TOP PLAYERS with extensions. You will probably see Nico get an extension now, to save money.

Who is this we? I for one am happy that we are filling areas of need and not just throwing money away bc we have it. That is the fastest way to mortgaging your future. We have been down that road before.
Chase Young……..looked like an absolute freak and sure-fire top of the draft pick coming out of college. Has flashed, but hasn’t lived up to some very high expectations. When the Niners got him at last year’s trade deadline I thought for sure they were going to unlock him, but that didn’t seem to happen and now they’re letting him walk. You hear he has motor issues, doesn’t always bring it every game. Still though, has to be tempting for any defensive-minded coach especially if it’s a 1-year prove it deal, and clearly we have one of those types of coaches.
