Honestly, if we aren't contending for a play-in spot, it's a blessing in disguise.

    - Odds are increased to get a higher pick.
    - Sengun gets time to get healthy without worrying about rushing back for a postseason push.
    - Udoka gets to see how the offense runs without Sengun, and can implement new offenses.
    - Rockets' brass gets to see if play is elevated from certain players in the absence of Sengun or if everything falls apart a la "non-Jokic minutes."

Honorable mention - more minutes for Landale. If he turns out to be very serviceable, then he could be a popular trade asset since I still trust Adams to back up Sengun more than Landale, next season.

This was definitely best case scenario. Not going to play again this season, but should be fine for camp and likely won't miss much summer progress time. If he had missed all offseason and part of next season, it would have been bad for a variety of reasons.

On that first point, the Rockets ain't keeping their pick unless they get VERY lucky with the ping pong balls. So losing Alpi is not a good thing in that regard.

But I do agree that this is an opportunity to see what other players(particularly Jalen and Jabari) can do in his absence.

Now that we know it wasn’t major, we can use this as a meme going forward. Still can’t believe this guy saw Sengun rolling by, completely devastated, and threw a towel at him.

I had the same in Jan. 22. Couldn’t put weight on it for about 1 month, walked with crutches for another month. Swelling for about 9-10 months BUT I was back to playing adult soccer in April. PT and the superior treatment he will get (compared to mine, lol), he will be good as new for next season. In fact it may be the impetus for him to improve his athleticism and general fitness. Plus I’ll bet he will spend a ton of time working on his shot.
