Agreed, but you could say the same about Swift and Pollard even, in regards to the injury tag. They’re all similar in skill set and stature so you’re essentially targeting the same style of player just with a different flavor, age, and price tag. I just don’t want to throw big money on a back that can potentially miss a majority of the season, especially if we can draft a guy that fits our scheme and can produce without the heavy contract implications. Even if it means signing Derrick Henry to pennies on the dollar if no one is willing to touch him due to age and mileage just as long as he fits our offense.
Reminds me when I sold my house years ago. Had 3 offers and was delegating between them, when my realtor came in and someone suddenly offered 20% more than everyone else.
This guy sounds plugged in. I wouldn’t have deduced that the Texans would need to offer the best deal AND the player would want to take it.
Holy moly... That's a lot of guaranteed money for a guy with only one year of good pass rush production. In comparison, I think Madubuike's contract only has about $53M of guaranteed money.
With the lack of Barkley signing with the Eagles right now, base on the rumor of what they're offering....I bet his agent is working the Texans to up the offer. He wants to come here.
