But bargain hunting usually gets you 3rd tier players at all those positions. If you aren’t down for at least 1 top tier FA in a year we have tons of cap, and a franchise QB on a rookie deal, then you are obviously good with 2nd tier and below filling all your positions which is a good way to stay 2nd tier. If we overpay and it doesn’t work, then we drop them before we have to pay CJ anyway, no harm done. The reward, however, would be great.

With the way we've seen Caserio draft and sign one yr FA deals with success, signing three top tier guys and bargain bin shopping wouldn't bother me at all. I mean he did add Rankins/Cashman/Nelson/Barnett etc... He's pretty good at bargain shopping. Add Barkley/Samuel/Wilkins and I will take my chances that Caserio/Ryans can fill the rest of the holes in the draft and the bargain bin. This is an advantage the Texans org has over most of the rest of the league.
25 mil APY on a 4 year 100 mil deal with 75 guaranteed is as far as I would go. Now I would look at bringing in Armstead and bringing home Danielle Hunter. Probably can do this for around 35-37 mil.
