This is what i was thinking too. Or Armstead instead of Wilkins depending on price. Curious to see what Cashman gets. I heard on 97.5 D'Andre Swift was rumored as well.

If they go Armstead over Wilkins then we’d better bring spend on some of the pricier LB, S, RBs. Cannot go cheap across the board. There is no excuse not to splurge this year. Sign guys to big three year deals so they expire when we need to start paying CJ. This is the best window RIGHT NOW with cheap pro bowl QB, DE, and CB.
Wilkins at full value, Armistead and Reader would need a discount. Wilkins PLAYS. Armstead hasn't made 50% of snaps in two years. Reader is a rotation player at this point.
I really want Swift if we don’t get Barkley. Swift just seems like such a great fit for the zone running scheme. For all the hand-wringing about the struggles of the run game this past season, I think it’s worth remembering that it took Kubiak a season or two to get the zone running scheme really firing on all cylinders when he got here in 2007. You need the right offensive linemen, the right type of running back, and everyone has to adjust to a new blocking scheme. I don’t think it’s far fetched to expect the running game to take a significant step forward next season even if they don’t splurge on Barkley.
How much faith does everyone have in Demeco/Caserio? I say Saquon, Demeco/Caserio say Swift & Pollard. I say Wilkins, Demeco/Caserio say Armstead & Kinlaw. I say Queen, Demeco say Azeez & AJ Epenesa. Not saying this will happy but I have 100% faith in our staff to build this team. We all want this big splash but we need the right splatter.
Question is how much would Armstead demand knowing he is over 30 and missed a lot of games the last two years?
