    I've got

    1. Jones
    2. Donald
    3. Lawrence
    4. Williams
    5, Buckner
    6. Wilkins

But they're close in talent level and Wilkins is still young about to enter his prime.

Also, and I’m not saying let’s be downright stupid, but THIS IS THE YEAR.

    * we have a TON of cap space
    * we have a franchise QB and Edge on ROOKIE deals we don’t need to think about for 3 more years.

if there is ever a time to overpay for top talent it’s now. Do some 3 year deals or 4 year deals with the 4th being escapable and spend the money FOR ONCE.

Im sick of 1 year deals, I’m sick of bargain hunting, I’m sick of stockpiling cap space and draft picks. Eventually you have to make a push. Wasting years of rookie deal stroud is MORE stupid than overpaying a top 7 DT with top 5 money.

This free agency is wild, when was the last time 2-3 top tier players in 3-4 key positions have been available? AND they happen to be at positions WE NEED?!?! AND WE HAVE THE MONEY?

how many years have we had the first overall pick, needing a QB and it’s a weak class so we grab a Clowney or Williams? How many years have we had money and no one available in FA? We have a perfect storm of needs, available players, rookie deals, and cap space. The one year deals did exactly what they were supposed to do. I’m sorry, but the conservative ppl wringing their hands at every possible contract need to just take a step back for one offseason. All the trench builders wanting OL depth, please just come back next year. Let this happen and give this team the spark to do what it hasn’t done before. It’s ok, we’ll still be fine 3 years from now. I promise.

Wilkins, Barkley, Simmons, White…. Let’s GO.

    sorry /rant.

I prefer the idea of say 3 or 4 "mid" range splashes that are upgrades over what we have.
Has the benefit of keeping the cap manageable.

They've dropped way back down to reasonable around here. I keep a close eye on eggs since it's about the only protein I can afford.

Let’s keep the team “mid” while we’re at it. Managing the cap is super important while our franchise qb is on his rookie deal for sure!!!

I like it but Nick has already wisely said he won't max out the cap.

Why “wisely”? Show me where that’s working? If you aren’t going to spend money this off-season then you never are, good luck competing with those that do.

    Never said don't spend.
Don't max out is wise to add guys in case of injury for one.

Maxing out the cap is what would be foolish.

Don’t cap. These guys play Madden with the cap setting turned off. They know what they’re talking about.

Adding top tier FA in a year that we have the money AND there are some really good players at positions of need is possible without maxing the cap out too. No one is turning off the cap setting on Madden.

we have the money, 3 years til we need to spend again, and a solid window to push forward. Take some risks for the first time in franchise history. We won’t get over the hump resigning singletary’s and adding Robert Wood’s.. I’m not saying go spend 100 mil on every big name out there, but if we run it back at RB and DL we will be very disappointed next offseason when we only have 2 years of rookie deal stroud to work around.

The next three years are the best chances the Texans will have to win a championship. Be aggressive Caserio

That's no joke, because once CJ's contract is negotiated we're going to have to let some really good players go if they aren't on rookie deals. I'm scared to even think what it will cost to sign CJ in the future if someone like Watson got over 40 million a year 2 years ago.
