For some of us there needs to be a band, made up of people, with musical instruments, that the people actually play to make music. I tuned into Coachella (?) online a while back and it was just some dude spinning records... and people were watching it...
I tried to get into Electronica - Synthwave Rap Hip Hop Etc and none of it really grabbed me. The current bands (not Old or Reunion) that I like tend to build/continue on what I am already comfortable with rather than trying to break new ground. Interrupters [Ska - Punk mix] Voice of Baceprot (VOB) [Indonesian Metal Trio] Tokyo Groove Jyoshi [Reminds me of Tower of Power] In regards to your reference about there needing to be a band playing musical instruments, I immediately thought of a mid 70's US band that had initial success, but faded away. The main guy created it rather than it being a band/group that worked their way up from bars and similar small venues. We seldom (hardly ever) pull up and link to their music in the [MUSIC]What Are You Listening To? thread. The reasons why we tend to ignore them aren't clear, but it is possible that them being a manufactured group rather than developed organically might be some of it.
Since there has been a Cowbell thread, maybe a Harmonica specific thread rather than expand the scope of this thread. ps J Geils
