His mumbling was a major tell of a lack of confidence....I can only recall one player in NBA history who was great and who was a poor speaker....Moses Malone.

Jalen sounds punch drunk after a 20yr heavy weight boxing career when speaking

Hasn’t really gotten better since his rookie year

Amen is a rookie and if youre not getting shooting from that position you might as well get what you can. Instead of what Jalen offers which is worse than nothing. He is a net negative at just about everything.

His averages for December, January, and February are only 39% FG and 27.7% 3PT with an ASST / TO ratio of 3.23 / 2.16. Do you really think anyone making trades is going to see that as good, or wouldn't look back at his progress or consistency? You'd have to dive pretty far down the charts to find a SG with worse stats than Jalen.

I think teams will look at how we play, and how he plays better in a less structured fast paced system and if that is the system they run - they will take a shot at him.

Again though, why play Amen out of position when it makes more sense to play Cam? Brooks has dropped in production so run Cam/Amen as the wings for the rest of the season and let them develop.

It's important to remember that the Rockets are stuck with Brooks for 3 more years due to the awful contract they gave him. Unless they want to risk having another John Wall scenario where they send a guy home for several years, they can't really bench him now no matter how bad he is.

I disagree. The Rockets need to prioritize winning and developing players who will actually be here next season. Some other team out there will take a shot at Jalen in a trade. We may not get much in return, but it's pretty obvious Ime was never big on the guy and is content to finish out games with almost anyone but him on the floor.

Shooting guard needs to be the secondary ball handler, Cam cannot really handle the ball and make decisions.

but we have to keep pretending
    [IMG]
Keep the charade going of starting him, get down 15, and then benching him for an entire half or quarter.

If Jae’Sean Tate can be CD-DNP, so can Jalen.

“But he was the 2nd overall pick.” OK and? No really, why is it relevant? He was the 2nd pick so we have to keep pretending? So we have to play him?

    Left with Josh Christopher.

At least for one more year, then with his declining salary and the increasing salary cap they can shift him to the “Tate” role or dump him for filler.

Says who exactly? Point forward is a well known archetype. Amen running point forward, FVV running the point, Sengun distributing from the post. How many secondary ball handlers do you want? You're just making up nonsense.

That assumes he'd be willing to accept that kind of role.

What's so insane is that brooks has been MILES better then anyone could've hoped, yet is STILL a horrible player/contract. Just mindblowing they gave him that deal

Then they dump him. This year, his salary is 16.64% of the cap. By year 3 it is only 13.62% and year 4 11.72%. It should be dumpable and they should dump him in my opinion by summer 2025

We established that the Rockets were a borderline horrendous FA destination after 3 years of tanking....and a former joke.
