and everyone knows the draft has a rare instance where players actually reach said ceiling. it's the same song and dance every year. hyped players turn into duds.

90% of the GARM then: "I like the selection of Jalen Green."

90% of the GARM now: "I always said he was terrible at basketball."

The math doesn't really work, does it?

Not really. We'd be in a worse position with Cade over Jalen. At least with Green you can pinpoint the problem. The fact that people still think Cade is a good player leads me to believe that they just box score watch and dont actually watch the games. He is absolutely brutal on both offense and defense. He's like a really really really shitty Russell Westbrook. Puts up stats because he always has the ball in his hands but slow, cant process the game, cant defend, a plodder laterally, can't break guys down off the dribble.

Green is a worse player than Cade (probably) but a better problem to have because it's easier to rid yourself of. The Pistons are one of the worst teams all time for a reason.

nope. Cade is just a better player in every facet of the game and isn't a brick laying chucker. JG is a terrible problem to have because he doesn't even know himself what his problems are and continues to just play the same exact way

pinpointing the problem means nothing. What you're describing and trying to associate with westbrick actually applies to JG not Cade

The rockets with JG at the helm were just as bad as the pistons. He's just lucky he has multiple players who are better than him now but yet are still a bad team

Do you know why this statement is blatantly false?

I’ll admit that I was high on the talent when we drafted him. I thought Mobley was the safer pick but I didn’t begrudge Stone for going for upside. That said, I didn’t realize that we never even worked Mobley out. That’s frankly unacceptable and incompetent. I also didn’t have access to the analysis and research that the org did. I didn’t talk to Jalen or gauge his work habits and mentality.

you can’t hate on Stone for swinging and missing on Jalen, but you can hate on Stone for picking Jalen without getting Mobley in our gym for a workout and interview. That’s not okay. I dare anyone to defend that; KPJ or not.

Other than being one of the worst teams with him at the helm taking the most shots since hes been here and 20 win seasons

because you want to believe it to be? sorry that's not how it works

The Pistons have 8 wins. Longest losing streak in history. The Rockets fielded lineups with Daishen Nix that weren't as bad as these Pistons. So no. The Rockets with Jalen at the helm were not anywhere near as bad as these Pistons. And that's saying something because those Rockets teams *sucked*.

Cade Pistons are all time laughably bad and only look competent when Cade is injured or out. I'd want to say that Cade is still better than Jalen but I'm honestly not sure because at least defenses have to respect Jalen's speed. Cade you don't have to respect anything. Literally nothing.

do you know who also held the longest losing streak in history? Take a wild guess

The pistons have won 40 games in the last 2 seasons. The rockets 42. Wooooopty dooo 2 more wins. Like I said the rockets are just as bad with JG at the helm chucking up the most shots

You're the same guy who compares SGA to Kevin Martin and that SGA isn't that good. So I mean your judgement isn't exactly that credible and doesn't warrant much

I was definitely one that liked the selection. Even though I had been disappointed in his performance coming into this year, the flashes he had shown still had me encouraged he would put it together and become a good player. The regression this season has been a gut punch. And then to get a performance like last night, coming off the All-Star break where the coach had essentially given him a vote of confidence by leaving him in the starting lineup… I think it was the last straw.

No, I was in Mobley's corner - but I was ROOTING for him to prove me wrong.

    He didn't.

    Sad day for Rox fans.
