2 halves of first to 100 by 2s and 3s. If each team wins a half then first to 30 by 2s and 3s. Or maybe instead turn the 3pt shot into a 4 point shot but if you miss then you lose 2 points. I don't know...anything different would be better. Or maybe you defensive scoring...a block or a steal counts as a point or add Euro goaltending rules or have no goaltending rules.... Whatever they do they need completely different scoring rules IMO.
I don't think the answer is to make it more gimmicky. What would be entertaining is watching the best players in the world play a real game. Like what would happen if the winner of East vs West determined who gets home court in the finals? I don't think players would just stand around all game, letting guys drive for wide dunks, or take half-court shots. I think the coaches would take the game incredibly seriously.

Lol, you can see Kat had 35 shots while somebody like Joker only had 6 shots despite not much difference in minutes played
I didnt watch ,but why did Lillard win the MVP over Haliburton? Was it just the 7 more points on 11 more shots? or was there a good reason.
I'm guessing partly recency bias since Haliburton's big moment (5 straight threes) came in the first 3½ minutes of the game. Meanwhile, Lillard's big highlight plays (hitting nothing but net on two casual, legitimately half court jumpers) both came in the second half.
What if it determines which conference gets home court for the entire playoffs? Up it a bit. Starting with the finals is the best idea and then go from there by each round if necessary in the future
