It also greatly increased funding for border security, changed asylum laws and as noted gave aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan.

Almost no bills get everyone everything they wanted . That is the nature of getting legislation passed. If the border is such a crisis that demands immediate attention then why wait? If it doesn’t get Republicans all they want they can surely try to pass another bill later. Instead they’ve opted to hold out because it might politically benefit Biden.

That's why they vote against everything. It's not rocket science. They have wanted Biden to fail since he took office. Now Trump demands they do what he wants, even from the sidelines, or they will be excluded from his Brown Shirts for Trump, Putin Puppets Club.

Trump is such a a pathological liar. Who believes this crap unless they are brainwashed or gullible as hell?

Former President Donald Trump bizarrely claimed that if he loses Pennsylvania, “they” will change the state's name.

Trump made the claim in a speech to thousands of members of the National Rifle Association (NRA) in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on Friday night.

“We have to win in November, or we’re not going to have Pennsylvania. They’ll change the name. They’re going to change the name of Pennsylvania,” Trump said.

If I were the Dems I would be filling the TV stations up with how the Republicans are the ones that don't want security and the border crisis fixed...

But the Dems are weak and soft... trying to be the nice guys...

Yeah, agree. There is so much they could do with ads on TV to call out the NO votes the past 4 years when they try to make things better. That, and fact check the BS Trump spurts out continuously.

This is a non-zero chance that Dementia Don did not know where the **** Nikki's husband was ... but was perhaps tired of being asked where Melania was.

Trump is a very ignorant man. 4 years in the White House did little to enlighten him.

NATO is not pay to play.

As of Oct. 31, 2023, the has donated 74 billion in aid and the EU has donated 85 billion. The numbers Dementia Don is using (200b for US and 25b for EU) comes straight out of his ass or perhaps from the bottom of his soiled diaper.

6 times bankrupt Dementia Don appears to be a big fan of "You got to pay your bills.” ... when it applies to others at least.

Dementia Don and his promises of treason if re-elected ...

'Treason': Top constitutional expert sounds the alarm over Trump’s attack on NATO

Donald Trump‘s remarks that he would not only violate the United States’ treaty with NATO by refusing to defend member countries if they were attacked by Russia and had not spent enough on defense, but that he would encourage President Vladimir Putin “to do whatever the hell” he wants in that situation, have sparked fears and warnings in the U.S. and in NATO countries. But one top constitutional scholar is issuing a different kind of warning: treason.

Speaking at a campaign rally in South Carolina, home to his top Republican rival and his own former UN Ambassador, Nikki Haley, Trump on Saturday relayed this anecdote to supporters: “One of the presidents of a big country stood up and said, ‘Well, sir, if we don’t pay and we’re attacked by Russia, will you protect us?’ I said, ‘You didn’t pay, you’re delinquent?’ He said, ‘Yes, let’s say that happened.’ ‘No, I would not protect you. In fact, I would encourage them to do whatever the hell they want. You gotta pay. You gotta pay your bills.'”

Laurence Tribe, the well-known constitutional scholar, is University Professor Emeritus at Harvard University, co-founder of the American Constitution Society, and author of “American Constitutional Law.”

Tribe on Sunday wrote: “This is an announcement by Mr. Trump of intent to commit what Article III defines as ‘treason’ by giving ‘aid and comfort’ to an ‘enemy,’ which Russia would become under Article V of the NATO Treaty by attacking one of our NATO allies.”

He was responding to a scathing piece on Trump’s remarks in The Atlantic by Tom Nichols, a retired U.S. Naval War College professor and an expert on Russia, nuclear weapons, and national security affairs, and specifically, via X, on this passage: “The leader of one of America’s two major political parties has just signaled to the Kremlin that if elected, he would not only refuse to defend Europe, but he would gladly support Vladimir Putin.”

In The Atlantic, Nichols added, “Here in the United States, we have become accustomed to treating Trump like an angry child, ignoring his outbursts the way parents ignore a toddler who shouts threats and claims to hate mommy and daddy during tantrums.”

“But other nations do not see an overaged juvenile; they see a man who once held the keys to the U.S. nuclear arsenal and could once again become the commander in chief of the American military. They are watching him because they believe—as they should—that he is telling them exactly what he’ll do if he returns to office.”

Trump’s remarks drew the ire of NATO itself.

“’Any suggestion that allies will not defend each other undermines all of our security, including that of the U.S., and puts American and European soldiers at increased risk,’ NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said in a statement,” The Associated Press reported Sunday.

Encounters is not a great metric for measuring illegal immigration. It can go up if more migrants are encouraged to come. But, it can also go up when you do a better job of stopping them. Biden can't get record encounters with an open border. Besides, since around 2008, more illegal immigration resulted from overstaying visas than by crossing the Mexican border, so the obsession with border-crossing isn't even addressing the majority of the alleged problem.

As far as I'm concerned it's not an actual problem at all. According to Pew, the size of the illegal immigrant population has been tapering off since the early Obama years. If we're get invaded, why does the population present keep going down?

I know a lot of voters, even Democrats, are animated by this issue and it will be a primary driver of this presidential election. But I think it is a panic that future generations will be scratching their heads about. Sure, our policies on how to manage this traffic is all wrong and results in many injustices, but it isn't an existential threat nor a crisis. It's just a dysfunctional policy that politicians probably would have fixed by now if it hadn't become a political football. Now we can't solve the problem without someone taking a political loss.

Choosing to run for President is Trump's choice. Committing numerous crimes was Trump's choice. Just because he thinks he should be able to rally and fundraise and run for President without going to trials and courts for his crimes doesn't matter. What Trump wants is irrelevant. The courts have no business coddling to a criminal's desires, just because he wants things done his way, and wants everything put on hold and delayed.

Dementia Don makes the US politically unstable. World Leaders are talking.

French Prime Minister Emmanuel Macron has been saying that they need to beef up their own defenses in response to U.S. political instability.

    I'd like to leave NATO.

I would not "root" for or "encourage" Ruzzia in any of its wars though.
