I love Sengun but as soon as he stepped up for the free throws I knew he wasn’t making both. Dude is not a clutch free throw shooter. One of the few fundamentals of his game he really needs to work on. Honestly in general I think he really needs to work on his shooting stroke because if he adds a consistent mid-range jumper and/or 3 he will become a bonafide superstar. Awful, awful start to this game vs. an awful, awful team. Cam Whitmore is special. Jalen Green used the midrange game to open up his offensive game the last few games and then I guess forgot it exists. FVV has been not good for quite a while.
Only managed to see the first 6 minutes of the game and then see the free throw to put the Nets up 3 and then the end of the game. Real tough miss there Alpi... Got to hit those. Unfortunately I didn't even think he was going to make both. As much as I love Ime and all the positive he's done - he's not immune to criticism. Claxton picked up his 1st foul moments into the game. Not once did they get Sengun on him to try to get his second. Then when Whitmore drew Claxton's second foul with 7+ minutes still to go in the first, again they went multiple possessions without even trying to get him to pick up his third. How good would this team look with a walking bucket at SG like Thomas.
If tonight wasnt proof that Cam and Amen should get more minutes and Jalen and Fred should get less I dont know what else would have to happen to convince Ime.
Udoka, you’re a fool. Way too late getting the kid in the game, essentially pigeonholed him into that situation while keeping him cold for 15 minutes. Yeah he should have been sharp after being frozen out for 15 minutes.
