Invest in Jones and that solves the DL issues.

Draft Thomas and that takes care of the WR issues.

An elite DL will make our linebackers that much more better in coverage.

    Exactly.

Sign Jones/Collins/WA/Barnett and hopefully Horton/Sanders etc... can provide depth. Gotta let Greenard go if you want to pay Jones.

One rookie WR doesn’t solve the WR problem. Yes we get Tank back, but you see how thin it is other than Nico and Tank. Teams that go where we want to go have depth we’ve only historically dreamed of. Stroud’s initial window is now so we need to push chips in.

Gain offensive depth based on CJ’s performance and cap available until we have to pay CJ in a few years.

I think a trio of Collins/Dell/Thomas would solve a lot of issues. In fact they could be a deadly trio.

Does shoring up the offensive line mean signing/drafting new players, or our existing OL getting healthier/better. It's hard to know from the outside with all the injuries this year.

Yes to the question about the guys on IR. I think Patterson comes back as eithe C or LG and Juice plays the other. Then Howard back at RT. Plus a year and an off-season of gelling, and getting a better RB. I know Singletary looked good at times, but there is a reason he’s never been the feature back, Barkley is not just a name, he would also be perfect for this system.

I like Brian Thomas as a consolation, but I think he is just a Nico clone (not that Nico is bad of course) but we already have a 6-4 4.5 guy. We need a 6-3 4.3 guy that can be a red zone threat and a deep threat to take the top off for Dell and Nico deep crosses

Don’t think anyone has said any such thing. No one has even mentioned Deiter in next years lineup at all. Have you forgotten how good Patterson was playing? We just spent a 2nd round pick on Scruggs, are you suggesting we spend ANOTHER 1st or 2nd on the OLine? At what point do we let them get past their rookie year?? Saying Howard coming to replace Fant and Patterson replacing Deiter will make this line much better is not that far-fetched.. y’all trying to draft rookies to replace sophomores which is the real ridiculous statement…

    this

we can't afford to devote more cap space/draft capital to the OL, given needs in other areas and existing personnel under contract

Pick 23 - Houston Texans (via CLE)

    Troy Fautanu
    Washington · OL · Senior

With C.J. Stroud blossoming into a franchise quarterback, the Texans must make a concerted effort to keep him protected. Fautanu would give the
team the flexibility to reshuffle the O-line and put its five best pass protectors in front of the emerging superstar.

If I was Nick Caserio, I would simply draft the players that will make the Texans win more games next season.

Exactly. As cheesy as it sounds they have to grow into the scheme. Our best line in history was Duane Brown and 4 misfits. They took 2 years to master the scheme in unison.
Tunsil/ Scruggs/Patterson/ Mason/ Howard will become zone savants, not by individual talent but what they can do together.
If SanFran, GB, Vikings or Miami release linemen, for all means acquire them for experience/depth.

That's a bold strategy, Max. Not sure the NFL is ready for that sort of outside the box thinking.

We need to get better at the DB position and WR

    Dejean or kool-aid

    Thomas or Coleman or AD

No TEs for me in this draft other then Brock not high on sanders or stover

GREAT offensive lines are typically veteran laden. Not units with so much inexperience that you cant account for the variance from game to game. We need a couple of solid veterans to show these young guys how to get it done. Nonchalantly expecting young players to get better by virtue of an added year doesnt really capture the issues with the line as a whole. We need better players TODAY - not guys who are projecting or gifted slots just because there is no competition. I could even be convinced to move on from Shaq Mason if we can find a better replacement.

Tunsil/Scruggs/Veteran C/Veteran RG/Tytus would be what I would do. You have Patterson, Green, and everyone else there for depth.

Remember folks THREE YEARS! Thats the window. No need to think about 'long term' anything while on CJs rookie deal. We need to go for it now!

Connor Williams, Trent Brown, Andre James, Aaron Brewer are names that I would consider.
