Looks like they just launched in late October I’m just now noticing this is in Hangout rather than GARM
Lmao I never fall for those cultural traps when I am not starving. Plus I am a huge sucker for ethno foods and stuff.
Was thinking about posting it in GARM but it doesnt really have anything to do with games or roster moves
I hear you and I love local food especially street food but sometimes you can’t pass up stuff like that. Especially given it’s the airport and already filled with globalists and chintzy brands.
I also avoid airport food in general because I heard they cannot supply airports like you know downtown restaurants.... They have to supply them in vast amounts and not everything is fresh and good. You are going to be stuck in a plane and with that airport food anyhoot. If I have time before a flight, I am using takeout or go to the next smaller foodtruck or fast food parlor.
Its owned by Luckin Coffee which is a really big coffee chain in China. They actually have other Rockets branded locations if I'm not mistaken. If its any indication, I live in a majority Chinese neighborhood and its mostly relatively recent immigrants from China (within the last 10-15 years). I haven't run into too many basketball fans but a solid majority that I do find still follow the Rockets as their primary team. But its only loyalty among immigrants from the PRC. The children of immigrants all follow the Raptors. Also interestingly, the immigrants from Hong Kong don't seem to care much about the Rockets. It's just immigrants from the mainland. Either way, its pretty cool to see that team loyalty to the Rockets has held on this well given that Yao retired 13 years ago. There is a limited shelf life on the Rockets loyalty given that the Chinese government basically denounced the team after the Morey comments on Hong Kong but the generation that saw Yao play on TV are still following the team. Before the Morey tweet, they were still broadcasting all Rockets games in China and there were all kinds of branding and sponsorship deals in the PRC. I think that stuff is all gone now so I'm not sure how much longer the ties to China will hold.
