She’s deaf, an amputee, and Native American? They couldn’t work two spirit in there too? I’m offended by the lack of representation. Either way congrats to the actress for not letting her disabilities hold her back.
Pvt. Pyle is a much more interesting actor than the actress playing Echo. Should have made the title of the show Kingpin (starring Echo) and people might have watched. I fear this show is going to focus and amplify all the Marvel hate into a single point of incel rage. I predict worst Marvel audience ratings ever, mostly posted from Mom's basement by people who havent watched a single episode, but have heard all about it.
I liked the trailer they posted with Kingpin. I'm sure I'll watch it. Kind of glad it's only 5 episodes and all drop at the same time though.
I read up on the Character and The description is wild ECHO Echo, AKA Maya Lopez, possesses photographic reflexes and superhuman physicality. She is a prodigy, a master combatant, and deaf. Plus she has a Prosthetic Leg. Kind of a Super human version of TaskMaster how is she different than: Rocket River
I had the volume off on my PC when I played that trailer. Before realizing my volume was off, I thought Marvel was trying to make this artsy with the audience having to experience the show the way Echo experiences her fictional life. I wonder what are the odds that the series would be better with the sound off?
Her superpower is the ability to get in and get a scholarship at whatever college she wants to apply to.
I still have to figure out why MCU Taskmaster is so different from comic book Taskmaster. Oh, MCU ... thou hath done me wrong.
Imagine watching that What If... history episode with the translated subtitles off. Oh, that's sure to win something at the Sundance Festival!
Actually its better than I thought Might be one of the better series so far Feels like the Netflix series Rocket River One Episode in
I thought it was mid to decent. Super strong start but fizzles out a slow death. Like so many other mcu shows they would have been good movies but making them a 5 or 6 hour show kills it. It makes them use the big budget action set pieces out of sequence and the emotional moments are repetitive where in a movie it’s much tighter. I will say if you like John Wick style action you’ll love the first few episodes but maybe just forget there are two more episodes because 4 and 5 drrrraaggggg, get repetitive with the emotional moments, and the finale you can tell was going for something that just didn’t work. If you see it (and I’m not sure I recommend seeing the finale) you’ll know what I’m talking about. Super challenging project though for so many reasons so I don’t really blame the showrunner/director. It’s Feiges fault for not understanding this would be considered MCU gold if it was a 2 hour straight up simple plot John Wick action film in the MCU with this character and Kingpin. 2/5. Probably rank it tied with Moon Knight. Better than Secret Invasion. Much worse than Loki which is the best MCU show. Definitely recommend the first episode for sure. It’s awesome… but don’t worry about watching the whole thing if you have better things to watch.
When I watched that TV show, I could probably think of about 10 other things minimum that I'd rather watch a spin off of, than this character.
