I only want Bridges if he comes cheap. His age and contract don't fit our timeline--he will be a declining max or near-max player by the time our young core hits their peak years--and he is a good, not great player.

He would obviously make us better in the short term, but I don't think he is worth major assets for us. Better to hold onto our picks and wait for a better timeline fit/better player.

Rockets need to add more Talent at Center

    6'10 Long Wing Span
    Bam Adebayo, Jalen Duren Types
at the Nets 10th pick or maybe higher

    Trades are unnecessary.

Use the Brooklyn pick to draft a Back Up Big..........lol problem solved.

Obviously they would be pressed to shuffle the SG spot but that is for another time.....

If you want Jock Landale to blow hook shots and layups and Jeff Green out of position.

Dude, you've screwed the pooch on many levels....

    - Misleading BS thread title
    - Numerous other threads discussing the same thing
    - You would give away not just the farm, but the vacation home too. Preposterous.

The most I would give up is Green and one of the picks for Bridges. I would want Claxton added if any more picks are involved. There is no way I would include Tari, Amen, or Cam.

I was for a trade with BKN for Bridges earlier this season but after watching the way he's been playing this year I think I'm going to pass.

Bridges is a good player, but the interest in Bridges and willingness to overpay feels very reminiscent of the Otto Porter infatuation from a few years back.

If there’s a player I want on Brooklyn it’s Claxton.

Rockets would be dumb to trade Tari, Cam, or Amen.

Do you have any proof other than "the way things are going?"

Udoka literally played Cam and Amen during the Nets game so there goes your narrative of them hiding Amen and Cam from the Nets.

I wonder how long it took you to come up with this theory lol. No one is purposely lowering the value of players. Amen worked his way back from multiple injuries. Tari shouldn't keep playing in pain (that's how Boston ruined Isaiah Thomas' career) and Cam was the 20th pick behind others in the rotation. When players are on the trading block they play, unless the parties mutually agree it's best the player stays away from the team until a trade is complete.

I don't believe Cam or Amen will be traded unless a solidified star is coming back. Brooklyn doesn't have that. It's best the Rockets wait to do anything, but if you're going after players like Bridges, you may as well go after Buddy Hield. He'd fit right in with Sengun leading the offense and will be a free agent after the season. Rockets would be fools to trade Tari for any of those players.

Those picks have no protection since they belong to PHX, Miami and Sixer all of whom are expected to be contenders. This year for example PHX are the 14th, Miami is 21st and Sixers are 27th. Having 8 frp sounds nice but that's counting their picks till 2030 and they don't even have any picks in 2024. So 8 low frps in 5 yrs? That doesn't seem like a lot since you get a frp every year anyway. Maybe PHX implodes though and then Nets can capitalize somehow.

You are right though Nets have no reason to tank cuz we own or can swap all their picks till 2027.

My 2 cents are, the Rockets aren’t in any need to rush a trade with the Nets or anyone. My big question to the OP is why gift the Nets favors at such a high cost to the Rockets? The unprotected draft picks are extremely and potentially valuable. They aren’t only valuable for what they can acquire, as it forces the Nets to win now and not develop the future; and this is the NBA where teams crumble when they aren’t solid to the core. Hence 2026 can potentially be a top 3 pick regardless if the Nets play to win or to develop their lackluster talent base.

I can see the Rockets being willing to move on from Green in the right deal, though I don’t see them giving him away, as he is a competent defender and shown to be at least a third scorer on a winning team. Personally I think this year for Green was going to be a year he needed to show he can be a team player - and so far he’s shown he can.

Yeah, when Green was drafted the hopes were he’d be an elite scorer; which maybe he can be, but he’d ruin any consistency towards winning. Just look at Cunningham in Detroit with his goody numbers, but his win share is in the negatives. And that is the definition of empty stats!

However Green is a positive player when he is guided to play correctly. But to this point he’s proven to be a shell of the type of players we were expecting after he was drafted.

But no way do you trade Green, Whitmore, Nets picks and swaps back to the Nets for a package of Bridges and Cam Thomas. Maybe I’m overvaluing the Rockets Assets; but the Rockets are a young team and they are improving accordingly, while making leaps and bounds towards being an elite team as they are.

Soon as Durant gets hurt or requests a trade the Phoenix picks are gold. I would propose a swap of Nets picks for Claxton and the Phoenix picks, but I doubt the Nets would take it. I used to be all in on Bridges with the picks, but I have been convinced otherwise. Claxton would be a great backup to Sengun.

Fake insiders is the reason why I signed up for this app. So Stone is going to watch the Nets implode and want to give them what could possibly be 4 top 10 picks on rookie deals back for Mikal freaking Bridges who will be demanding $$$. I fking love trade season dog!
