Also I am posting this from the perspective that I am in the mid Atlantic for Christmas, not Houston. I spent my formative winters in Ohio.

Right now, it is. I like sun, I don't miss cold winters. Have had enough of them in my life. I don't mind a crisp, cold, snowy day. But in Europe, it's mostly just wet, dark, muddy, rainy. I don't miss that.

But for those who miss it, why not just go on a little vacation in Colorado or something.

Eventually you will have to go to Greenland or Siberia to see snow

I’m with you brother. I have lived in middle TN my whole life and nothing sucks more than cold winters. We rarely get snow - we have to deal with ice too much and it’s not fun to have to deal with and drive around in. People who are jonesing for a cold winter… go to North or South Dakota. I’m sure you will get sick of that real quick.

Mrs. rimrocker spent her childhood in rural Georgia--Plains of all places--and went to Jr High and HS in coastal North Carolina.

Snow is overall a pain in the ass. With all due respect to @rimrocker , it gets old. It isn’t the death sentence some in Texas think- it is more of a hassle.

The serene silence is nice, the lack of crime is as well- and it’s awesome around Christmas. The parts that suck are the driving. I’m in Chicago, lots of car accidents and black ice issues. Your car can get stuck as well… leaving for work is sad, you have to de-ice your car and leaving your warm bed to drive in the cold is bad.

If I had a choice, I would live in Snow in December and January… and have an extended Fall and Spring.

The brilliance of the seasons is something most Texans don’t know about.

After the my second Minnesota winter my fascination with snow was over. It’s nice and pretty but shoveling it, driving in it, and dealing with slush and mud in your house from it gets tiring fast.

I’ve spent the last three Christmas’ 1 degree above the equator with palm trees and spicy food and don’t miss Snow and eggnog one but.

Winter is coming. AI is going to draw a virtual line in the sands of cyberspace. But we'll never see it coming.

It's cold enough at 35 degrees and it certainly feels like Christmas now.
