He still has plenty of time to turn it around and he has the best coach to make it happen. We criticize hard so it can be heard.
I've been saying that forever...I would package Jalen/Tate/Brooklyn pick, but I'm keeping Amen...everyone hyping up Cam, but I would rather keep Amen over Cam...6'7" point guard is kinda hard to let go especially with his skillset. Once Amen develops his perimeter game, he could be our future point guard once FVV contract is up
The Rox would be damned to give up too much because people around him knew that he was destined to sign with the Knicks or Nets .......he wants to be in the New York area. Knicks more likely. That is a big reason the Cavs are so scared of losing him and entertaining ideas. Should be viewed as a rental.
We already have a log jam at the 2. Just trade Jalen Green for draft picks and hopefully a back up center. Cam Whitmore needs time, Amen Thompson needs time if he can stay healthy, also have Holiday, bullock and Oladipo sniffing paint in some gym far away.
Maybe, i honestly do not know what the market is. I would not have paid Dillon Brooks $80M and it looks like he is earning his money. If Jalen plays this way the rest of the season, I do not think we will be competing w many people to sign him. I think he goes on a bit of a streak by the end of the season though. Maybe a very heavy incentive driven contract is the way to go, or high annual salary with team options each year like KPJ. 2/$25M I think a lot of other teams would take that risk.
Immanuel Quickley is probably a decent benchmark. Knicks offered $18M per, he wanted $25M. Right now Jalen is not on that level but if he gets to Quckley-type production for the rest of the season, then you may start with $18M like the Knicks and see if you can compromise on something in that range. He needs to play better than now, however, he needs to be at the level of the first few games this season at least, when he looked decent…
i know ppl are down on Jalen, but c'mon. Quickley is avg 15/2/2 this yr, at age 24 in his 4th season. Jalen already out produces him already even on his down skid. I dont necassarily disagree about the salary comments, but jeeeez
Yet people are desperate to say that him becoming “fine” on defense represents some sort of massive improvement. It’s insanity.
Jalen has actually improved lately at cheerleading from the bench during close games. Gotta give credit where it's due.
Very telling that he didn't play a single minute in the 4th. Not sure the coaches see him as a part of their long term future despite their comments to the media.
