His chances of leaving here diminished long ago. It's shown that he's being carried by the great rookie CJ. That's his offensive gameplans.
Don't see anything special with Slowik. If he ever gets a chance at HC, he'll need to thank Stroud. Slowik seems mid at best.
Maybe he's not a COMPLETE idiot... https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id...oc-bobby-slowik-helped-cj-stroud-excel-rookie Lots to like here; especially the relationships and level of trust between Slowik, CJ and DeMeco; and CJ's willingness to accept criticism and learn. I also have to believe that CJ would have been the choice had the picked at #1 based on how Slowik talks about their pre-draft film study and discussion.
I know there are many theories about how we got there, but I have always liked what they accomplished with picks 2 and 3 on draft day, even with the heavy criticism of the cost based on a static model of value for the 2024 picks given up.
@Colt45 great find/read! Loved these 2 quotes at the end... Slowik showing humility and patting his QB on the back... "There's a significant number of off-schedule plays ... he's made that were really poor playcalls by me," Slowik said. "We wouldn't get the right look ... and he just went outside the structure and made some really nice throws." Believe the relationship they built as DEF QC guys, gives Meco confidence that Slowik is gonna get better and better as an OC. "Bobby is just a guy who is very detail-oriented in everything that he does. ... I'm happy to have Bobby onboard," Ryans said. "He's done a great job all year. We wouldn't be here where we are standing today without Bobby and his entire staff."
I heard the announcers mention that Bobby and Demeco started their coaching stints at SF as defensive quality control assistants. That sort of explains a lot. What little I know about and seen in the football coaching professions is that them dudes are effing thick as thieves. Especially with ppl they’ve come up with and been given opportunities too. Explains why Demeco said after every away game Demeco and Bobby are sitting together on the plane and going over the tape. Anyway I trust Demeco. He’s old school and wants to run and establish the ball. So if you want Bobby to start calling an Air Coryell like game that’s not what our head coach wants his team to be.
Permission denied! No, it's a different feeling. You have fans from struggling organizations using the Texans the model for turning things around.
I thought teams couldn’t speak to coaches on teams still in the playoffs? It was like a new rule or something.
The texans can't deny permission totally i dont think. Teams cant deny promotional interviews. Only Slowik can deny
But I could have sworn that the rule changed after the Eagles lost both coordinators while still on their Super Bowl run. Like they couldn’t deny but the interview couldn’t take place until after the teams playoff run. yeah here it is. https://sports.yahoo.com/nfl-change...ate-a-more-level-playing-field-215748133.html
