The irony (or maybe not irony) of that is I doubt you could convince any Saudi Prince to buy the Astros right now. The business model and projections for baseball are pretty abysmal, and Manfred only makes it worse with his inability to bring younger viewers into the fold.

Also this is not the EPL. If anything, it's La Liga where you have 2 teams that matter, and everyone else is viewed at as a nuisance in the way.

 

If the Saudi's were interested, they would want to buy MLB, not just the one most dominant franchise in MLB

Won't be the first WRONG DECISION the Houston Chronicle has made. Most News Paper columns have become unreadable. Not an ounce of objective balance left. If she doesn't know that Altuve did not participate in the "sign stealing" scandal (I still say all teams do this), then she doesn't need to be in sports journalism.

I would also like to point out that Altuve never defended himself from these accusations because he would have to indirectly throw his teammates under the bus.

So he just takes the criticism in silence.

 

I really don't have sympathy for her. Her take was a heat magnet. She had to know as a reporter it would piss off the Astros fan base. She came here knowing those comments could come back to bite her and they did.

 

It was reported that Altuve was extremly pissed off that the guys in the dugout would bang when he was AB, he NEVER wanted it, hence why he had only 24 known bangs that entire season at home. For me that's not guilt by association but I understand why he kept quiet.

 

Same. Some of the stuff they said about her was out of line. At the end of the day I dont really care. You don't insult a Houston Legend and then not expect some type of heat. It's like u wouldn't hire a reporter who insulted Ichiro to cover the Mariners.
And not only did Altuve not defend himself. When a reporter offered words in his defense. Just like the G he is. He politely declined and said "we are on the same team". Something like that.
