I guess it didn't occur to me because of his response to the question "Whatever happened to Clerks 2?" that has been asked at Q&As has always been "It became Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back" (or his actual answer to that question when he premiered J&SBSB in Austin was "You just saw it"). I figured he felt he did make Clerks 2, it was just called something else and focused on something different.

I'm not surprised he's going back to the Askewniverse well, I just hadn't thought of that specifically because he had said that he'd essentially done Clerks 2.
