This thread aged like milk. Other than a few people here with a serious case of TDS, no one really cares about Jan 6th. Every now and then, I asked random people for their thoughts on that date, they don’t seem to know what it is and they don’t really care. This thread along with that stupid Covid thread should die a painful death a long time ago to save some bandwidth.

 

I’m sure all of those people from Jan 6 who
Are doing hard time and have publicly stated they regret what they did care.

In other words, they need to scrub the maga republican elected officials from the tapes before releasing. And who would have thought the speaker of the house would attack and cast doubts on our law enforcement officers...

 

What subject of discussion do you think is more worthy of our bandwidth?

1. Doesn't the DOJ already have all this footage to help them make their indictments?

2. Why the hell would an official of our government want the DOJ to not make indictments? If someone on the tape is innocent, there will be no basis for an indictment and certainly no basis for a conviction. If they aren't, shouldn't everyone in our government and all good citizens want to see justice served? (I do agree that blurring faces is prudent because participants could be subjected to vigilantism. But, his comment about the DOJ is totally irresponsible.)

 

Of course the DOJ already does. speaker johnson simply wants to amplify the trump storyline that the FBI is somehow illegally investigating defenseless and innocent magas. It would be no different than saying "We need to blur the faces of the bank robbers inside the bank caught on bank videos so that law enforcement doesn't arrest them." This is how far the republican party has fallen.
