as long as the evangelicals & phony christians control our government we will never legalize. even if it happens on the federal level texas will still fight it. f***ing oklahoma has legalized medicinal...its probably the easiest state in the country to get a medical card and there are dispensaries everywhere. i went to new mexico a couple months ago and when you cross the border into clovis there were like a dozen dispensaries...IN CLOVIS!
its about both. arresting people for weed is big business in small towns...not just for jails and cops, but also attorneys, bail bondsmen, ect. but with our government controlled by right-wing religious extremists any talk of legalization is a non-starter. same reason gambling is a non-starter.
Right. The police-prison industrial complex...see my first post in this thread. Police departments also can keep seizures from certain crimes. Right-wing pundit talk means very little. Look at the very conservative states that have partial legalization.
i was one of them, but we were heading into new mexico, not going back into texas. im guessing the cops on the texas side can keep pretty busy busting people as they re-enter. i remember coming back from colorado a few years ago and crossed over in the town of "texline". there were billboards everywhere saying the cops would get you if you had weed! and there were cop cars all over the road. i wasnt riding dirty so i had nothing to worry about, but if i had anything i would have been s***ing myself. as far as clovis weed, i had bought some there because we werent getting to our destination till late and it may have been the particular strain i bought, but it was not up the standard that i expected...especially compared to colorado bud.
NM is still playing catch up and I'd wager the places in Clovis are more inclined to go for quantity of sales over quality of product. I can find some good stuff in Ruidoso but Colorado is still ahead of the game in terms of quality AND selection.
Arizona has some very good bud too but yeah Colorado is the best by far for quality. Although Oregon beats it on quality + price. Honorable mention shout out to Michigan (Detroit area) too. Places where I won't buy weed again is Illinois, but specifically the Chicago metro. Absolute crap and super overpriced.
Straight fire. Shawn Kemp (ah!) has a shop in Downtown Seattle that gives out the goods man. Loved that place. check it out https://www.kempscannabis.com/
