Tonight's game will tell me if I want him gone.

He does well against LAL. They got Austin Reaves and DeAngelo.

If they're good don't trade them, if they're bad don't trade them.

You can tell this is true because no trades ever happen.

Jalen needs to get in his middie bag tonight because I guarantee you the Lakers are going to play drop coverage with AD when Green is the pnr ball handler. Basically give him the middie floater look but not the look at the rim. Green should easily get by guys like Russel and Reeves. The problem is the drop coverage with AD, a great defender protecting the rim.

    Thanks, appreciate the level tone.
However, his on-court personality has matched his public personality. He’s played extremely soft.
And you know who else thinks he’s played very soft? Jalen Green!
He literally said before the season started that "he hasn’t shown that he can play defense, be a leader, or win"

I’m not saying these on/off court things match 100%, far from it. But one gets clues that can be used to make valid predictions. It’s pretty banal, actually. Why I got such virulent reactions speaks more about the people who are obsesssing over me like @peleincubus, than anything interesting about how I form my opinions…

Attempt to rationalize your words however you like. Your quotes speak for themselves. This is a message board about a basketball team it is not some huge serious thing.

Just laughing at you with a tinge of sympathy that you're capable of leaving some of the refuse here that you do.

There should be more than enough to talk about before the deadline.

Rodman was about the only one among ballers dressed and pierced like a Drag queen back in the 90s.

This thread is a nice reminder that, as much as I have been annoyed by Stone at times, I am so thankful that he is our GM instead of some of the guys on here. It is bananas how reactionary this forum is, and it seems to get a bit worse everyday. Perhaps I am misremembering, but I don't remember near this level of toxicity even a few years ago.

Well glad to know that you believe the circumstances surrounding a 21yr old #2 draft pick who has averaged 20ppg coming into his 3rd season is exactly the same as every other player in the NBA.

Fans are never going to be GMs, most likely some guy who was never a Rocket affiliate then working 20 years until he gets a chance.

....Or else an established GM having worked 15 years somewhere else.

Has anyone mentioned that you are a weird poster? In the sense that most of your posts don't say anything really?

Like are you on acid when you type stuff? Or maybe English is like your third language where things like American idioms and figure of speech is not known to you?

Just something very weird about how you type sentences and post.

Thread slightly de-railed here... on topic. If you were to put your Rocket fan hat down and put on your Rockets GM hat.

As far as market value, below is a espn top 100 for this year. Yes it's espn, and worry less about the specific people and their rank #, but if you were to say the 'range' like, I'm ok if traded for a caliber level of player in Range 20 or above or in Range 30 or above.... what is the level number. The appeal of Green is the 'maybe upside' for the other team where that could be very attractive.

What is the actual range that's actually reasonable for Rockets and the other team. Say the mandate is not for Rockets to win everything now; but be very good in playoffs in the next 2-5 years.

notes: Green is currently #80, FVV is #56; other guys like Sengun and Bari didn't make the top 100.

note2: For me it's less about trading Green, but knowing his market value, Stone can give a reasonable offer when he tries to give an extension. Knowing where Green ranks around the league, a fair offer could be made.

It's been this toxic for a long time .... people can't disagree with any degree of civility on much of anything anymore.
The anonymity of the internet brings out the worst in people, they say things they wouldn't say out loud in public ....

He is the opposite of soft on the offensive side of the ball. In fact, he needs to add a little more finesse to his offensive game. You don’t go to the line as much as he does playing soft. He does not have the physique to be physical on defense and it looks like he is using his quickness to off-set some of that. You could be the toughest 190 defensive lineman in the world and you would still get pancaked by every offensive lineman in the league. You’re just a Neanderthal internet warrior who I’m sure Jalen could beat the hell out of if so inclined.

It's actually time for the OP to stop thinking. We need to let it ride and see what we we've got. No need to manufacture villians.

If Green is so bad like many of y’all claim, what is he even bringing back in a trade?

We trade Green for some mediocre 1st round pick, and then what? That’s supposed to be addition by subtraction?

    :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Green is at #20 for FT attempts. You don't get that many FTs by being soft.

Wild shitpost... They literally want him to attack more in iso situations... And make less predetermined plays.

He got 12 FTA... That's great as well... If he can continue to increase his FT rate it will be huge

That's what you're proyecting 'cause you're going way out of your way to state how you think a man should behave and how unconfortable you are with Green's way of life apparently.
