All true in theory. But that's not what the game looked like yesterday. Wemby could not be denied a catch down low when guarded by only one player. Against any defender shorter than 6'8" he was able to immediately lay it in from as far away as 8 feet, without even needing a post move. From up high, he was fluid enough to cut and find very easy dunks. On top of that, his jump shot looked good and so did his bbiq. Teams will probably stack the paint more and force him to shoot Js, but he doesn't have any obvious flaw that still needs to be corrected, unlike a lot of prior top picks.
F*cking Jabari couldn't make his free throws and choked massively otherwise we would have given Wemby an L in the first matchup with him. Still pissed about that.
I am bummed we didn't draft him, even if he busts. Worse, he was beaming with joy when we pulled the number 4 pick. Instead we draft Amen and are 1-3... While the Spurs are easily sitting at 3-2. Wemby in 5 games, 21pts/8rbs/2blocks Amen in 4 games, 6pts/3rbs/0blocks
I am still hoping at some point, teams will find the cheat code and hack into the game to eliminate the unfair advantage. If not, they may need to change some rules. I feel that Wemby is the modern day Wilt Chamberlain. Wilt was so much bigger, faster, and more athletic than his peer. There was no way to stop him unless some rules were changed.
Bingo. I felt Wilt was head and shoulders, well, much more than that, over everyone who was playing at that time. He could put up 200-400 points if he really had that much time.
Whoa, whoa. The Rockets did an okay job defending him in one of his early games, but he's Wilt now? (I do see and honor your comparison, but let's just admit it's super duper early days.)
Correction: if the Spurs stop posting up Zach Collins and let Wemby touch the ball he will. And lol - Cedi Osman you dummy, just hacked Wemby to give Toronto the tying bucket.
