Denver barring injuries is too good for everyone I think. Mike Malone stepped the hell up in the Playoffs.
People don’t realize how toxic Harden has made his value on the market. This last week I thought we were certainly headed to buyout talks honestly. So for Morey to get 2 firsts that he can use to add a decent player at the deadline with a ton of expiring salary is huge and might have saved him from losing Embiid if that’s the right final piece.
Odds on two out of the three missing >40% of regular season games and being out for some/all of the playoffs?
Posted on the other thread wondering what the over/under time frame will be until he decides to pull his whiney b!tch @$$ routine demanding to be traded?
Maxey's playing great, but if you're the Sixers, you don't want him to continue playing 38 to 40 minutes. None of the new guys really help on that front, I think. Also, Embiid and Maxey plus role players likely won't get them farther than the second round.
All I heard was former Rocket in the news and automatically thought Rockets made a move to solidify their bench. womp womp.
Clippers really only lost 2 genuine rotation players in this deal: Covington who was s starting, and Batum off the bench…one of which is getting replaced by PJ Sixers get some picks to try and cobble together a trade for an impact player down the road plus still preserve cap space for next year’s weak free agent class win for both sides IMO
Below is what Zack Lowe wrote about the Sixers' demands prior to the trade. So, going by this it looks like Morey got pretty close to what he wanted.
Who didn't realize this? He's 34 years old and on an expiring contract. Also, why would Philly take a buyout instead of accepting LA's offer that only had 1 of their picks and lacked NBA superstar Terance Mann - that would be a disaster for them - Better to get something less than your demand (which they eventually did). The only team a buyout hurts is Philadelphia, then Harden goes to LAC for free
Nah, considering Morey’s track record with drafts, those picks are not worth a lot, unless they are traded. The fact that Embiid is 30, I doubt those picks stay in Philly.
If morey was smart he would want to lose Embiid. I dunno how he got an MVP. He's not winning a ring with Embiid. Trade him why his value is at his all time high. Guy disappears worse than harden in the playoffs. Too reliant on foul calls.
I can’t wait to see Morey whiff on trading for a star with this cap room. He will be all out of tricks and will get the can.
