One game, and clutchfans goes into full meltdown mode. The overreactions are extreme. Get it together
This is all fair, I suppose. But let's be honest. He has way more terrible games and not nearly enough great games than a #2 selection, alleged primary offensive option should have. And that's to say nothing about his defense. It's okay to say "he's inconsistent", but it's more than that. It's true he fluctuates, but to date he's averaged out to a below-average player because we've seen much more bad than good. If our expectations are adjusting to "inefficient scoring punch", then sure. He seems to be a good candidate for that role.
To me he does not have an NBA ready body even by Year 3......there are lots of hardware flaws that do not pass requirements yet. 6'4 is also not really great height for an SG......it is minimum requirement. And I would not call him mentally strong either. Him playing couple games hard and then him playing couple of games lackadaisically.
Lol, I mean realistically his "floor" is likely a D'Angelo Russell type player, who is a nice scorer but doesn't do much else to help the team. Or someone like Clarkson although I'd argue he's already in the same tier as him.
Kinda what I was expecting. I had us only winning 6 games in the first 25. Said we had no shooting to open up the lane. Ryan Hollins was mentioning that the whole game. Said every team is going to do that. "Players will just need to make those shots" Easier said than done. Our players are not built that way. I mentioned if you make the Rockets a jump shooting team we might average 89 points. We scored 87 Fire Stone
This season is all predicated on how well Jalen Green and Jabari Smith play - it's unfair to expect Amen Thompson to be a big star as he has a steep learning curve ahead of him. But both Jalen and Jabari have to show us that they can live up to their potential and "figure it out". This is especially true for Jalen Green - how long has this dude been in the league? This is year 3 - he has got to be better than what he showed last night. It reminds me of when I used to work at a govt contractor and they gave me the lead on an assignment after I had been there for close to 4 years. I didn't perform to the level they wanted me and I was soon replaced. This is what happens in the real world - there comes a time, when the organization or mgmt expect you to take that next step and time is running out on Jalen Green. There is no reason why he cannot take that next step. Silas really stunted his growth. I just hope it doesn't take longer than usual to undo all the mess that this team has been in the last couple of seasons. If teams like the Thunder and Magic can show improvement, why can't we?
I didn’t like some of the lineups but in reality there’s not much Ime can do. Most of the backups are poor shooters, even with Tari whose not that great of a shooter either. It just causes poor spacing and terrible play. Ben Sullivan has his work cut out for him…..
We played like trash, but it's one game. It's like some of y'all are brand new to sports how overemotional and knee-jerk you are with every single game and every single opinion. It's like a bunch of 2 year olds.
Disappointed with the Team’s effort. Hopefully they get progressively better as the season goes on but if after a month they are still struggling it’s time to move Green and Tate.
Tate should have been moved a long time ago, IMO. I have never seen what the appeal is with him. Watch him go to some other team and turn out to be really good, lol.
This. Folks can keep holding out hope if they want to but Jalen aint it. Yeah Silas was bad. Yeah the team was tanking...man so what. Lots of players arent in ideal situations and they still look much better than jalen. Cade is playing with 4 mfs who cant shoot in detroits starting lineup and he dropped 30/9 and lost to miami by one. Jalen got a bunch of excuses. Time for folks to realize hes just not that good. Hes not the player we hoped hed be.
Should we aim for first over all draft pick next year after one game? Lets tank.... Come on guys.....
Jalen green is just not good enough. Hes not dynamic enough of a player When his scoring is off he looks horrible, he provides absolutely nothing. Cant defend, cant make plays, cant draw fouls, doesnt hustle I have 0 expectations from him at this point. They need to focus on someone else most likely
Does he though? Actually look at his stats from last year, he had way more good scoring games than bad. Yet people literally out here calling Sengun a franchise player and he struggled to break 15 points all last season.
The overreaction was expected. I hope you guys don't knee jerk like this in real life. It can't be healthy for you all if you do lol. At this point, be patient, let's give it some time for the players to get used to each and to Ime's system and let's judge them 20 games from now.
