Yeah if you arbitrarily take away a bunch of his wins, his record doesn’t look as good! Let’s take away Hinch’s wins too since the team was so good. Wait, he’s 0-0 in the playoffs. I guess that’s a .500 record!
I'm so sick of this narrative that Dusty is some historic or prolific manager. Dusty has 54 post season wins in his managerial career. 31 of those wins came with the Houston Astros, a team that had gone to the WS 2x in the 3 years prior to his hiring. The Astros saved Dusty's career; never let anyone convince you otherwise. For full transparency, outside his 31-17 record with the Astros, his playoff record is 23-32. 100%
And he went to the post season 9 times with them. If we’re playing let’s discount wins when he had good teams game then every manager looks bad. If Hinch was such a better manager look at his record outside of 2017-2019. He has the worst winning percentage of any non interim Diamondbacks manager and the Tigers were supposed to be up and coming when he joined and have underperformed those expectations. I’m not saying his stretch with the Astros makes Dusty a great manager by itself, but you can’t ignore it to make a point he’s a bad manager. If it’s all the team anyway then who cares who is manager.
Hey in 2017 you didn’t care if we win it all But now that dusty is the manager you are always defending him? You don’t even give a **** about the Astros winning
From the sacrifice Watson thread from October 2017...lol. Hell, No I wouldn't sacrifice a QB at that time. Doesn't mean it wasn't a priority. It was a DUMB question. You are reaching. Astros fan for 41. Oilers/Texans fan for 45 years....lol.
