You are all overlooking the obvious. What makes you think Yao would not defend himself? Dont start with the "no upper body" crap either..Some of the scrappiest fighters I have known had relitively small shoulders and arms. The made up for their lack of size with fighting know-how. Just a thought... oh yea, btw.. Yao Ming is tall!! carry on
If I was 22 yrs. old, 7'6", the best basketball player from a country of 1 billion people, and now was ready to go against the world's other "bests" on a really excellent team, I would be cocky. I think he is showing remarkable strength of character and is exuding "confidence"...
All of this talk about Shaq and Yao brought fond memories of Sir Charles and one of the coolest moments in Rocket history... Barkley taking down Shaq. Yes! I'll never forget it. Cato could do it if he had a fraction of the manhood Charles has in one of his pinky fingers.
The only schooling Shaq could do is how to lower your shoulder and push your way to the basket, while whineing to the refs to not get it called. What other move does he have?
Antoine Carr is one mean mother f**cker. I'd love to see Shaq throw elbows at him! Let's get him back....
That thought almost made me cry . . . . That was one of the greatest things I have ever seen . . .a 6'4" Barkley picking up Shaq and body slamming him!!! aaahhhh, memories.
if you want to call it cocky go for it. I think its a good sign from yao. it tells me that he isnt gonna be a p*ssy and gonna stand up for himself. all of the nba cept the rocks are gonna be putting a bulls eye on him. and shaq has been talking sh*t as usual so it just tells me that yao is gonna want to do especially well to quiet shaq and other critics who dont know his game at all and just make speculations about him. and who said we needs a player to get rid of shaq? shaq is a big guy but if he lays a finger on ming I say all of compaq center rush the court and we the fans take matters in our own hands. Shaq is a huge mofo but he cant handle 10000+ pissed off rocket fans.
i just have a feeling that after their first game facing off each other, win or lose, they're gonna walk off with nothing but respect to the other. i just dont see shaq as someone who'd purposely make enemies. so far its just wacky quotes.
