Here is what I KNOW - that the Rockets will be facing a situation next year where they need to give Jalen and Sengun and extension - now if Jalen is a decent scorer but not like a guy that is a leader - you can't give him a MAX contract, even if he thinks he deserves one, and if other players fit better, they will trade him along to avoid paying him. As Daryl Morey said you don't want to be the team giving Max deals to Chandler Parsons you want to be the team that discovers them. Jalen right now has a lot to prove - he and Sengun the org has to decide at the end of THIS YEAR if they are keepers and to sign them to an extension. DD
If Jalen is ever traded, it will not be because they signed vet minimum Reggie Bullock.......because there is another huge reason behind it.
I completely I agree with you - and that's why I don't understand your Reggie Bullock connection. Whether we trade JG or not should have nothing to do with how good Bullock plays. It is also about, do we believe he is worthy of a max contract for us. In my opionion he doesn't have to be a leader, but we at least have to believe, that he can turn into an elite scorer. Reggie Bullock will always be a minor piece in the big picture - either as a 3&D starter or coming of the bench. He won't fill the need of a star on this team. We can only keep Green, if we believe that he can fill that roll.
