Yes, warfare was much more brutal in ancient times. They also took slaves, but I don't support slavery. That really has nothing to do with the point, which was that @fchowd0311's prescription for what leads to peace is not what was seen historically.
Israel will roll into Gaza and many more Palastinians will die than Israelis, I don't know if Hamas is popular or the people just have to support it because they have the guns.....? But, the only way this ends it seems is Israel rolling through and basically torching everything until Hamas is all dead, or out of power. DD
Hamas is popular because Palestinian lives are awful due to the existence of Israel. Though they'd probably still live terrible lives even without Israel.
It's gonna b hard for the republican party to deny foreign aid to Ukraine now if they want to all of a sudden want to open the bank to assist Israel, but who knows these hypocrites will always weasel out. Getting triggered over hamas killing children, elderly and women, imagine how many of those died in Ukraine and we have folks refuse foreign aid.
We're sending a carrier strike group to the Eastern Mediterranean, doubtless accompanied by a Marine Air-Ground Task Force. Don't be surprised if our Marines end up in Lebanon and possibly elsewhere. We also know that a German national, Shani Louk, was captured, taken back to Gaza, paraded around, stripped, and shown unconscious and beaten in the back of pickup truck. That's about 5x the number of troops that was used in the 2008 Gaza War. But from a planning perspective, probably the right amount to attempt to pacify a citystate with 2 million plus people.
Killing every single militant, and moving any peaceful citizen to a rear area while the operation is ongoing.....as a guess...... I don't believe they will kill everyone, but it will be very very bloody and lots of innocent people will be killed. DD
