What in the world, is this common? Are other teams picking sides in such a controversial situation that has nothing to do with the Heat? Israeli money in Miami or something? Also players speaking out causes controversy but this is acceptable?
This is not about me, Morey got a lot of flack for it so wondering why these type of political statements aren’t.
Because the NBA derives a significant amount of revenue from China and probably close to $0 from Palestine. Also both Micky Arison and Mark Cuban are Jewish or of Jewish descent. Maybe if Morey was originally from Hong Kong or was Chinese there would be less flake. If a random Chinese general manager for a sports team in China proclaimed that certain states in the USA need to be freed from the tyranny of Trump/Biden then you would think he should STFU too.
Tnx for providing some perspective. And guess this goes to show, power and $ speak. And the last point is inaccurate but let’s not get into that.
I might even go as far to say a good portion of wealth in the US belong to Jews..... Nothing wrong with that either....they were hard working people and could endure the most.
It isn't really controversial to oppose the slaughter of innocent women, children, and elders by terrorists. I know there are a few posters here siding with Hamas, but that is a tiny minority opinion in America.
Siding with Palestinian people is not the same as siding with the armed forces of one organization, yeah, a lot of Hamas were former citizens.... You could side with ordinary people and still be against the head honchos. It would not be that complicated if those 2 nations were not stuck on this tiny ground that is sacred to them...... I am pragmatic.
This is not the D&D, but if anyone questions a message of solidarity with a country that just saw civilians mass murdered by terrorists, I don't know what to tell you.
