Should we sell high and trade CJ right now for a bag (of picks). We could probably get a record haul for him.
Note: I am not advocating for this scenario.

    What would be the rationale?

I wouldn't say that: we don't a left guard; both our centers are rookies; Shaq Mason is... not good/young.

I think they could easily upgrade two positions - and possibly three, depending on how the rookie pan out.

Shaq Mason hasn’t played bad. He will be better with Tytus Howard next to him.

Our two Centers can also play guard. Patterson is playing really well and Juice will probably will be back vs Saints. Yes, they’re rookies. If you draft one next year, he’ll be a rookie.

“They need to address the OL.”
No, they need to get healthy first and then let’s see.
So Mason had a bad/rough game one and now we project that out until forever! He’s done! He’s washed! He’s toast! We need a guard!

For being the 3rd string OL, for how much they “suck”, what is it, haven’t allowed a sack in the past 2 weeks? Now sure, it’s a team effort, it’s Stroud (getting the ball out quick), it’s Slowik, they probably deserve majority of the credit but give these guys some credit too.

so we could go back into possible qb hell and take one of these guys in next year's draft and hope they are equal or play better than CJ?

Not only no, but hell no. What are you smoking? We've waited 20 years for a QB with CJ's caliber of accuracy and potential stardom.

Arguably we could fill some positions of need while having a hole in the most important position. Feels like it would set us back more than help.

@cmoak1982 would you trade CJ right now for Drake Maye or Caleb Williams?

I think we're like the Chiefs after they drafted Mahomes. We will be contending for AFC Championships for years to come (This may be an overreaction).
Edit: I would not be that surprised to see us in the AFC Championship this year.
