We are at home. The series goes through Houston. That's what we played for. The Blue Jays occasionally go on a scoring tear, but they fizzle out more often than not. Minnesota will need to rely on Correa's IQ to have a chance.
I think he only played well one game against JP France. Didn't face JV, Framber, or even Javier. We should be fine. Can't ask for any softer match up than Blue Jays or Twins.
That’s why I expect that situation to change in the next decade, especially now that Vegas has their franchises. If City of Austin won’t encourage a stadium then build it in a suburb between Austin and S.A.
Don’t get me wrong, obviously the bye is nice and wouldn’t want it any other way… But waiting until Saturday sucks.
Resting our players and avoid potential Injuries that can occur in the wild cards. Earning a bye is a boon in the playoffs
You still need major corporate/financial support for the 81 home games. The Spurs, despite their success, have had their struggles with that with just 41 home games hence why they’ve always been exploring different surrounding markets they can optimize. Vegas is a different animal. If it was just about population, the Bay Area dwarfs any of these other markets. Tampa does have enough corporate support based on local viewership/radio… attendance would be more consistent if they actually played in Tampa. Imagine the Astros playing in Kemah as a comparison for how that setup works out. As far as why the games were set up this way… they have to stagger them in a 6 hour window without a west coast late game market. Thus they decided to give Dallas (big market) the first game on a national network that started unopposed… then staggered the Twins (secondary market)… then staggered the Brewers (secondary market)… then gave Philadelphia (the biggest market) the last start on their main network. And while Toronto is a huge market, their viewership isn’t really counted towards US ratings as consistently (but I do believe they have to share some of the revenue from TSN - Canada’s ESPN).
How come that Marlins fan that always has the best playoff seats is at Milwaukee instead of Philadelphia to watch the Marlins?
This reads like you’d rather be the team starting Urquiddy in game 1… at least your hyperbole stays consistent.
