Will I enjoy and also understand this show if...
    • I like Mandalorian but do not like Boba Fett
    • I am okay with the 3 newest Star Wars movies that everyone hates
    • I just do not at all care about the pre-deathstar blow up movie/show (Andor) - good or bad, just do not care, waste of time
    • Could have really done without Obi series
    • I am not a diehard of Star War but do appreciate Dave Filoni's contributions (even though I will never watch a cartoon, do not tell me I need to watch a cartoon)
    • Have never and absolutely will never watch any cartoons or animated shows about Star Wars
    • Have Star Wars fatigue and wouldn't be phased if they never made any new Star Wars content for a decade

I havent watched the cartoons. Theres a lot of terrible "all u need to know" recaps on yt, like no-cred for a long long time terrible.

The one posted last page by screencrush is good enough. The show still hits the ground running with the older series though. Which is way too confusing and a big F on the producers for not releasing a 30-60 min series of short intros leading up to the premiere. I think they wanted streaming metrics on the cartoons or something. Dumb.

So far, I think its above average and filoni has ideas...big ideas. I can't unsee the limitations of Volume after it was pointed out in Obi Wan. It's still a visual treat even if I'm hoping to see the next upgrade.

It took them 40 years to figure it out. But the key here for Star Wars is that it is moving now like a dark soul game. Start with a small hero journey, slowly escalate to the big boss, fight it, take some defeats, and then find out the world is only getting bigger and harder after you beat the big boss. Then you get to the next level. and then bigger again at the next level. Moving vertically to expand their world instead of horizontally, it's a very sound structure on which to hook people and build your story. Marvel figured this out faster than anyone, although they may appear to have hit a wall.

Speaking of fatigue, I really like Andor and Rogue One, because I have Jedi and Light Saber fatigue. There basically are no Jedi in those two.

Are you saying you’re not interested in Andor because of the time it’s set? Like Rogue One? ie, a rebel build-up to the Deathstar mission isn’t needed?

I can see that: From a large story arc perspective, what’s the point of a dead-end piece to the story. Just wanted to clarify if you were also including Rogue One.

    ————-

As for your main question, will you enjoy Ahsoka. Probably not this first 1/2 season, given everything else you said. But it’s not close to finished. And looks like a major path for the franchise.

So you're saying you want live action anime that doesn't suck?

She strikes me as the blend of a little boy and a goth girl.

For whatever reason, I refuse to believe that she's not the same person as the creepy little girl that was in that redneck South African rap group that had their 15 minutes about a decade ago:

My only real complaint so far is that the show actually doesn’t seem that interested in Ahsoka as much as it is concerned with the apprentice Sabine girl, the witch situation, and the big bad Thrawn guy. For someone who hasn’t watched the cartoons, and thinks the character is awesome looking I was looking forward to getting some time with her and feel a bit bait and switched except for the flashback episode which was prob my favorite so far.

I watched both Rogue One & Andor - and I just didn't care for whatever reason. They weren't bad like Boba Fett. They just didn't resonate with me. It took me like 6 months to watch Andor because it was doing nothing for me. Again - clearly it wasn't BAD. Just didn't HIT for me.

Thought the court room drama was really lame, and the only excuse to even put it on screen was to give 3po a cameo. The 2nd half of the episode was better, but not by much.

The thing I did not understand is if Baylan was training Shin to be MORE, why did the training suddenly just end... just as he was about to stumble on the planet's big secret.

I like it, and I don't care who knows.

Really more interested in seeing what happens with Baylen and Shin

Both want power but their employers do not respect them, they are practically mercenaries.

Feel like they are showing the disgruntled senator extensively to set up him and other politicians leaving the republic and teaming up with Thrawn later to form the First Order.

They want to show us how fragile and divided this republic post-Empire is and how it could never thrive and unite everyone (same with the shipyard episode).
