https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/38380166/sources-nba-likely-pass-tougher-rules-resting-stars Not sure how this will be enforced, but I imagine that if a player refuses to play or a team rests someone and has medical proof of injury, could be a lot of lawsuits if the league tries to fine them.
Much like former NBA claims of "This season undercutting shooters is an area of focus", and "the NBA is introducing penalties to reduce flopping" I will file this under "i'll believe it when I see it". But maybe it will discourage some coaches from letting players dictate their schedules.
im ok with stars resting before the playoffs or slam dunk contest. dun wanna see them missing during important moments.
Its a give & take. You want players available, for best exposure for the game. Its gotta be frustrating for the league to schedule prime time matchups but the key stars are sitting it out. But load management can also extend careers 2-3 years, instead of short-sighted need to see Luka for handful of extra games in a season.
They should just play the regular season with their g-league teams. Only bring in the NBA squad when it's a TV game and in the playoffs. Their careers will be extended to an average of 45 years old.
that doesn't really matter. teams that lose lose bc they have no stars. In which case who cares. folks don't pay good money to see those teams
Clearly the league did not see superstar Dillon in the World Championships and is hating on Sengun. Rockets have multiple stars.
That whole John Wall situation really stretched the excuses teams use to sit players out. He even threw us under the bus to pretend he wasn't washed.
