Count me in for casting my vote for Singleton getting another chance on the Astros ML team.

I don’t think the Julks has been able to work out his holes in his swing; perhaps he needs to go back to the minors to figure it out.

Singleton has mastered the home run bat flip -- I'll give him that. The guy goes up to the plate looking to murder the soul of the pitcher.

At this point I agree that the Julks experiment needs to be done.

Even Dusty refused to use him to PH for Maldy on Saturday or start him vs either LHSP in NY.

I don't have confidence in Singleton but there simply aren't any better options until/unless Brantley gets healthy.

    It's (past) time.

There would be something poetic about it if Singleton is able to help.

He was supposed to be one of the core players with the likes of Correa,Altuve and Springer when this run started.

I must admit, that it’s been many years since I had written off Singleton from ever being a factor for the Astros. I’m pleasantly surprised that Singleton may actually get his chance to help the Astros. It’s quite exciting!

If Singleton doesn't workout and Brantley doesn't make it back, I would call Barber up from AA. I think his bat will translate. Cant be worse than Julks lately.

I agree they must do something. Neither Dirden or Leon look like the answer.

I hope big Jon is it.

loperfido is a left handed bat that is worth giving a go if Jon can’t hack it.

Sounds like the right guy to be at the plate if/when we face Joe Kelly again :D

So how good does Singleton need to be a get regular playing time?
    .700+ OPS?

How good to start at 1st full time?
    .780 OPS?

The fact that Abreu still has 2+ years on his contract and is serviceable nulls this out

I wouldn't expect him to do anything against good teams with ace pitchers.... but perhaps the Astros may actually start scoring big runs against the As, Royals and Rockies of the league with him in the lineup.

    Serviceable is debatable
