Maybe this will convince JV to give up his personal C, personal CF and Dusty’s “best defensive chance” 1B. Of course, we cannot trust what we see on the field because we aren’t paid a million to manage baseball.
Who could have guessed this lineup would have trouble scoring? Altuve is bookended by Maldy and Pena. That’s idiotic. Altuve walks to start the game, and we’re all hoping Pena strikes out to avoid the DP. That lineup last night was scary af. Did Dusty not watch that game? He is so terrible.
We already knew ahead of time JV was going to get little run support such is the the life of an ace. But Dusty was like hold my wine, I'm going to make it a little tougher. Ain't no punks from Detroit. I can't even be mad at it. Kinda' funny.
6 innings 2 runs, what more do you want from Verlander. Sadly Dusty's lineup is performing up to expectations.
It sucks that the bottom of the lineup isn't hitting. But let's not pretend the bigger issue here isn't 1 total hit including 0fers from Tucker, Bregman, McCormick, and Alvarez. Be honest, if Jose Abreu and Diaz were in the game and the Stros were still losing in a similar fashion you'd be whining just the same.
