The dodgers were lurking too with a much better farm system

JV staying in NY was not realistic. Never would have worked.

I should have negotiated this deal on behalf of the team! We’d have given up Maldy, Montero, and a package of Parrilladas Mixtas from El Tiempo!

I wouldn't say he is cheap - he is just very cautious with any expenditures beyond a few years. I believe that he still owes some of his investors as well. His cautiousness overall I think has served him well - but there are times, like this trade where he could have saved assets had he just signed Verlander.

I am trying to find out the money the Mets ate -

Hopefully he keeps his word and leaves this site. He sad he’d leave if Verlander came back.

I’d also be willing to bet this all Crane and little to no Brown

Now that tweet about Crane personally involved makes sense.
Dana must have been like don't do it.

Ok. Time for a bullpen arm and bat to start vs RHP.

Yes - this was all Crane's rodeo.

Crane was negotiating this and Brown and his assistant helped on the farm pieces going to NY but from what I am told, Crane really knows the minor league system well.

To those complaining - I would suggest looking at what the Rays gave up for Civale today - that is who we HOPE Clifford would be in a few seasons.

The Astros will suck immediately starting in 2026 because Drew Gilbert won't be on their major league roster.

    WHY CRANE WHYYYYYYYYYYo_Oo_O:confused:
