What was the real reason he fired Click?

Click kept stealing Crane's lunch out of the fridge.

Crane wants the credit and likes to get involved. Click wanted more independence. Click didn't "think big" enough -- used more of a small market mentality. I suspect ego got involved... and perhaps stubbornness and pride.

Click didn’t work well with others in the organization. He was told when he came in that he needed to fit into culture and not define it - that was hard for him.

Crane and Click had some screaming issues too… Crane lost confidence in him when a lot of the things Click suggested didn’t work out…. Click didn’t want to sign Verlander and Crane got involved, and salvaged a deal. The fact Verlander did so well didn’t help Click’s case…. Click also didn’t like some of players and moves Dusty made… that relationship was destroyed…. Dusty’s moves that Click disagreed with paid off and made it look like Click was wrong (Contreras trade, Gurriel making post season roster and starting)….. but from what I was told last year, how Click botched the trade deadline did him in… he promised big moves and it didn’t happen and Crane wasn’t happy.

Click is a fine GM. He had some bad luck in small samples, and he didn’t build great relationships and that did him in…. As for the future, Click’s bad mouthing Crane and the Astros didn’t help him at all around the league.

Haven't seen anyone say it but Crane has been a breath of fresh air as a Houston franchise owner. Glad to have him on our side.

I miss Luhnow's shrewd moves that paid off 10x. I think Crane thought Click could do something similar given TB's success, analytics focus, and small budget

Feels like a thinly disguised Tilman thread from the other idiots.

Because the successes have made his ego too big. He needs to get back to the attitude that got the Astros to be successful to begin with and let his GM handle it. Should've rehired Luhnow.

Not going to hate on the best owner in Houston sports history. He ain't perfect but he's far from being a problem.
