Depends on which app you are using. Meta's Facebook and Instagram suck for user manipulation (through AI-based suggestions) and data collection, just like most social media platforms, including Twitter. They all have their own form of censorship. That doesn't make any of their CEOs or owners soulless; it simply makes them somewhat pure capitalists. Musk isn't any different; the main public distinction is how he treats his own user base. He has been an ******* on his own platform, which has led to him angering a large segment of his user base. It's not a good thing if and when a viable option to jump ship becomes available, and Threads is looking promising as that viable option.
I like threads because these right wing Twitter nuts are not being forced onto my feed. Instead it’s Rockets, tech, nostalgia memes, and medicine.
ElonJet is back. https://www.threads.net/@elonmusksjet "@zuck will I be allowed to stay?' asked Sweeney in a post, making a veiled reference to his ElonJet account's permanent suspension on Twitter last year." lol
Fastest growth over chatgpt. Zuck needs to throw out AI 5 times per speaking engagement and watch his stock moneys go up up up.
Musk paid accused rapist and human trafficker Andrew Tate over $20,000 for posting to Twitter Elon is conducting a $44 billion experiment into how much **** his fan boys will swallow.
Twitter owes former workers $500m in unpaid severance payments I am sure that this is just a paperwork error, along with not paying his Google Cloud bills.
Picking sides between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg is like deciding whether to root for the Jazz or the Lakers.
Only 1m. I think this is more about testing a theory: can he sue others for ‘scraping’ Twitter data? I’m not sure how flooding the signup page with requests is considered scraping data. That sounds more like a DDoS attack. https://www.theverge.com/2023/7/13/23794163/elon-musk-lawsuit-data-scraping-twitter-x-corp The Elon Musk-owned X Corp. is suing four unnamed individuals over allegations they illegally scraped user data from Twitter, as first reported by CNBC. The lawsuit was filed in a Dallas County, Texas, court on July 6th and seeks over $1 million in damages. According to the complaint, the four entities, which are identified only by their IP addresses, unlawfully scraped Twitter user data in violation of the platform’s terms of service. The lawsuit describes these IP addresses as “flooding” Twitter’s sign-up page with “automated requests,” which allegedly put a strain on the company’s servers and disrupted users’ experience. X Corp. says it “has been unable to ascertain” the identities of all four individuals. The company alleges that their actions constituted unjust enrichment at X Corp.’s expense, noting that the defendants made a profit “from their unauthorized scraping of Twitter data.” … Since taking over Twitter, Musk has made numerous changes that he claims are required to stop AI companies from scooping up Twitter’s data and using it to train their large language models. Earlier this month, Twitter put temporary limits on the amount of posts users can read and also threatened to sue Microsoft over claims it “trained illegally using Twitter data” in April.
