I’m just scrolling through the last couple of pages since I last posted and I really think your argument is reductive and you’re simplifying what is both Libertarian and Facism. It’s largely much different than the arguments but forward by many in the Right that a lot of things are “Socialism”

Yes that people like the writers of the Turner Diaries express views about small government doesn’t mean that they are Libertarians. There are many who share similar views regarding the size of government who don’t agree in a range of things. For that matter if a belief in capitalism and small business is Libertatian and leads inevitably to Fascism then Joe Biden and Elizabeth Warren are Libertarians in the road to Fascism.

I also find your argument ironic given how specific and exclusionary you are about what defines a “Leftist”. You seem to take a very narrow approach to that definition yet an exceedingly expansive approach to Libertatian and Fascist.

 

So do you have an argument of why it's narrow or are you just going to state it as a matter of fact?

I stated those who use the argument of small government only when wanting to make sure the social and economic hiearchy are in tact as in they only care about limited govt when it spends money investing in social and economic classes that are different than theirs have the same end state goals as fascists which is to maintain the current economic and social order. The people and THE TYPE OF PEOPLE that are at the top stay at the top and the people at the bottom and THE TYPE OF PEOPLE at the bottom stay at the bottom.

Is Elizabeth Warren advocating for "limited government" to maintain the current economic hierarchies and wealth inequalities?

I don't think anyone really cares about these issues if they think one man can solve these systemic problems. It shows your affinity towards a cult of personality. There is no single person I think has that type of reformative power. No one person holds that ability. Trump rapidly saying stuff like "I alone can only solve this" speaks volumes to the unseriousness of Trump and problem solving.

Trumpers always talk about the 2019 economy and not the November 2020 economy. Inflation will be gone by next year and the fed will cut rates next year. Next year the 2023 economy will be better than the 2019 economy in every metric.

Health insurance has never been cheaper than what it is today and college is more affordable today than ever before. These are facts.

We have more Americans working today in the labor force than at any point in modern history.

This is going to be off-topic, my apologies. I need to ask ya'll something....

I read a lot of this thread, and I mean a lot. Too much, to be honest. Somewhere amongst the shockingly fair amount of civil and decent discourse, and all of the back and forth, a single thought began nagging at me. And yeah, I'm curious to see if any of the board's more dedicated users could offer me clarity regarding this matter. It's been a damn year, so I'm due for a post anyway. On to it, then.

My question is this: Has @tinman ever contributed anything worthwhile to a single discussion on this board? One coherent thought? Holy hell, man.

Because I've got to be honest here ya'll, I'm not sure this guy is playing with a full deck. Just posting brain-meltingly stupid ****, over and over and over. Endlessly. For YEARS.

Admittedly, I'm a pretty far-cry from a "99er." I created my account in 2014, so there's 15 whole years and thousands of posts of his that I'm not familiar with. Was it always this way? Did he suffer a traumatic brain injury at some point, pre Harden-era? Is it all an act? (Tell me its all a joke, please)
