Great debut. But let’s not forget MCW was great in his debut as well. I will reserve my judgement until the regular season.
Not ready to put his jersey in the rafters quite yet, but he showed he’s ready for 15-20 mpg backing up FVV to start the year.
The pocket passes and savvy are what stood out most IMO ..Everything else is what most Summer League athletic participants do.
@DaDakota what the **** is wrong with you? Now he’s sure to be a bust. We can’t have nice things here.
The size difference between Amen and Scoot is very noticeable. You can see the vision on why the Rockets FO might have had Amen ranked ahead of Scoot. Amen’s size, length, athleticism and poise allows him to really play at his pace. Scoot on the other hand had to work pretty hard to get off his midrange shot. Amen really didn’t have the ball in his hands that much but you can see how he still had a great impact on the game. It is a promising start.
Agree, he's the first draft pick in these last 3 years that looks like he actually knows what he's doing and I actually see super-star potential. He's a very high IQ player unlike some of these past dudes we drafted. I just wish we could've somehow traded up to get Ausar... those two together would've been insane for our team. Like others have noticed, Amen Thompson really reminds me of rookie Ben Simmons and that's a GOOD thing since Amen isn't afraid to shoot.
Its great people are excited, but I feel yall are setting yourselves up for disappointment. He's a rookie with little high level competition on his resume and he can't shoot. Hes going to have a rough rookie season like a lot of very good players once did. I feel like Rockets fans are bi-polar or something with really wild mood swings. Im already dreading the mood around here the first bad game he has and how he's forever a bust after that. Look at how people swung from so low to so high on Bari in the same game. Yall need to find balance.
One of the best overall athletes in NBA history. Very skilled and willing passer as well. Sky is the limit for him.
Said he was short and was 2 to 3 years away from being as good as what we had, still true.....I like Amen better, he is taller, my draft board was Wemby, Miller, Amen....Scoot. At one point I had Amen 2nd. DD
