People downplaying the fact we mismanaged our assets after mismanaging our assets are wild. 2 wrongs (at least) don’t make a right Sure Tyty didn’t contribute much … but we “played” him behind Nix after drafting him in the first round A YEAR ago. AND we gave him away. But nah it’s all good because he didn’t contribute? LMAO
All this talk of TyTy reminds me of the time that we sent our would-be PG of the Future down to the G League just to have him go off and score 52 points with likely no assists.
Silas didn’t have full control like Udoka over the roster. The decision to play Nix over Washington was Stone’s. Stone could’ve waived Nix if he thought Silas was hindering TyTy’s development by playing Nix over him. And, after Silas is gone the front office gave him away even though we still had room for a guard on the roster which is now filled by Aaron Holiday. I put most of the blame on what happened to TyTy on Stone who essentially wasted the first round pick we got in the Christian Wood trade on TyTy. The plan was to leave TyTy in the G League last year, but the KPJ injury made it necessary to call him up.
I don't know if it is true - but I heard that Stone this morning had breakfast with a friend and tipped the waitress the Rockets 2029 second rounder.
Rockets non-moves at the margins really left so many assets on the table. Like Nook said, Stone just doesn't do the details very well. Doesn't mean he is bad, just that he is middle of the pack. Thing is, the moves at the margins add up over time and can be the difference for a team in playoff success.
1. Either Stone has badly mismanaged the cap and I am not talking about the Brooks or FVV contracts. 2. He has lead an organization that is so toxic they have to WAAAAY overpay to have anyone play for them 3. Both 1 and 2
Per sources, the Jeff Green contract in Houston is two years and a total of $16M. $8M cap hit in year 1 with the second year non-guaranteed. Green earned a total of $9M the last 2 years in Denver. I have to stop supporting him....he has to go
Welllll the good news is you KNOW that other GMs aren’t letting Stone’s call roll over to voicemail. Every other GM when they see Stone on caller id: “Hold on…I gotta get this”
You understand that is a team friendly contract right? As of now, we have Tate Landale Green KPJ as trade filler if we need big dollars at the trade deadline.
Nah I'm fine with Amen. Rox were gonna use the capspace to sign FVV anyway Amen is a better fit as he can play 4 positions instead of just 1.
