Victor: "That person grabbed me from behind. Not on my shoulder, grabbed me from behind. Security pushed her away."
Goes to show how faulty witness recollection can often be. Wemby remembers someone grabbing him and Brittany remembers the security backhanding her. Both were inaccurate.
Was a bit surprised (and delighted) that it ended up not being someone on Vic's team but a Spurs employee. The Spurs org is not this perfect org that NBA media often paints it to be. From trying to hide the Primo thing; to this little mis-hap. It's a mishap, but someone did get hit. And I doubt NBA wanted this story to go in right before the summer league. If I was the Spurs PR team there are couple things I've done already, but let them sort it out. p.s. People say it's such a non issue and the hit doesn't look that hard; so if that's the case, does Brit get a free hit back. eye for eye? So far: ------------ Thompson & Whitmore: incident 0 Wemby and Spurs org: scandal incident +1
lmao @ the people in this thread immediately calling out Wemby / the Spurs org without even waiting for videos or evidence or anything proving either side of the story. Person A tried to touch person B, but person B had security personnel around them whose primary job is to protect person B, or else you get fired. Person A reached out and either made contact or didn't - but security (slapped? moved?) person A's hand/arm away, with the resulting action being person A technically hitting herself. Celebrity drama, for real. Totally a non-issue. I get that some of you hate the Spurs, but chill out.
People are waiting to pounce on Wemby if he doesn't have a young Lebron level impact on the floor right off the bat and I'm all for it. If you look at the all time great 19 year olds(Lebron, Zion and Luka) they all had meat on them and could bully ball their way into impacting the game. Wemby isn't that. If he becomes an all time great it's going to be the traditional route of not having great impact for the first few years until like the 3rd or fourth season in the NBA.
Dude is weaker, slower and stiffer with the ball than advertised... Dude is going to have a hard time his first year with grown men defending him.
