Holiday Celebrate Holiday Celebrate If we took a holiday Took some time to celebrate Just one day out of life It would be, it would be so nice
So this is not the guy we acquired before. He's the youngest of 3 Holiday brothers if I'm not mistaken. Justin Holiday (SG/SF) we acquired earlier. You know Jrue Holiday. This is Aaron Holiday we're acquiring (6'0 PG, 26 years old). Since advanced defensive stats are so inconsistent, I did a quick google search and discovered that he was signed by the Hawks last season for defense and good "court awareness". Earlier in his career with the Pacers (3rd year), his defense was allegedly better than his offense but his defense was not consistent. Seems like he's a capable defender but his size will obviously be a limitation. He has a good assist to turnover ration at 2.2 to 1 for his career with his last 2 seasons slightly better than that. Shoots VERY well from 3pt range (42% and 47% his last 2 seasons, 37% for his career). Can't imagine he'll play much, but you would definitely count him as a shooter. Anyone else know more about him?
Ugh. Injured half his rookie season so we didn't even really test him. Picked with a first round pick, attached a 2nd and $550k. Was the second highest rated PG in that draft IIRC. You hear every day about how Kentucky guards do surprisingly well in the NBA. It's very clear to me Tyty is a legit NBA backup PG. Losing Tyty and Garuba for nothing was painful.
Jackson Gatlin was propping him up as a possibility on the latest Locked On Rockets podcast, so I was hoping it would be either he or Rivers. Obviously you're not bringing on Holiday to be a huge rotational piece. But they need situational guys, particularly situational guys who can shoot and defend, and that's where Holiday excels. I could see him playing more off ball with the second unit with Amen and/or KPJ doing more of the playmaking. Good signing. Not going to move the needle, though.
Patty played with Udoka as an assistant, with Landale on the national team, is a champion, and a sharpshooter, everything you could ask for this team as a vet bench guard Then TyTy had upside as a young player who showed capable scoring in college, as well as solid passing ability and very low turnovers for a young player Dump both for 4 2nds, sign Holiday It’s small so we shouldn’t be too upset… but it makes you wonder if Stone is a r****d
I'm truly holding out hope that all of this was for Lopez, and they had a firm handshake deal in place. It's the only way this makes any sense. But the fact that they clearly didn't have a contingency plan in place to use the extra cap they acquired just screams incompetence. To lose that much value on that many trades and then not even use the cap room you lost all the value for... it's maddening.
How will he fit around our franchise player Sengun? Will he take touches away? Is he racist like Silas was? So many questions
