I know what they wanted, people on here thinking a fan is a dummy.

All cultural moves aside, the Rockets forgot how to make a team much stronger.

From the angle of just building a team, this was not a good day. That was all.

    Hard to discern these days...

I think that's very pessimistic and extremely premature, you have 2 more seasons to watch before you can accurately make that assessment imo

Not too hard to discern IMO.

If the Heat added Damian Lillard they would be much better without giving up too much.

That is objective. To name just 1 example.

Folks like you think I have to comment on every post with a 3 year window in mind, no, I am not forced to be a Stone fanboi, simple as that.

And I am very content with not being a Stone fan.

    Ok.
So um, how does giving up a bunch of end of bench guys for 2 starters and 2 backups = a bad day for team building?

I take your assessment to mean you think we are worse off than the 22 win team of last season?

I wanted to go straight to a 55 win team too, but that is exceedingly unrealistic... baby steps. First step is always to find a star to build around. We are still searching, but are giving our "significant assets" every chance to now break out and be that star OR become complimentary trade pieces for that star.

In a sense, championship wise, nothing changed. But I really like the adding of playable veterans who have on court presence and will play defence.

The problem is not what you stated.

The problem here is people trying to silence you, muzzle you because you feel pessimistic which is everyone's right.

They feel they have to impose sth on you. Also a problem of the world really.

People forget that 64 million would normally get you 2 bona fide players.

I am well aware that the Rockets are in every other way not "normal".

At last I want to return to "normality" again one day.

    Same!
That's why I am ok with overpaying 4 vets (let's be honest, we paid all of FVV, Brooks, Jock and Jeff too much!!) - we HAD to in order to get back to average.

Our young guys growth sets the tone going forward.

I do not think we can put a winning and loss tag on them but I do think they are slower than other rebuilding teams probably not named Detroit.

They would tell you they have enough wiggle room to undo their error.

Showing off way before FA with 60 million to spend, Stone has done himself a disservice for his cause, namely free agents were hell bent on negotiating with the Rockets for way overpriced contract details.

I told here that the PR is really important but neglected here.

I don't understand the Mills part of this trade at all, so I'm hoping we get more clarity on this today. But if feels like the Rockets just tried to dump a bunch of salary for themselves and others and a bunch of second rounders changed hands all so that they could make an offer to Lopez that never came to fruition.

I like Mills, and he feels like a good fit for what Ime is trying to do with this team. I'm still hoping that there's one more big piece in all of this, because without it, this mega deal seems very pointless.
