Green has been a bad defender. He follows a few different future projection lines in regards to offensive efficiency, depending on how you want to interpret the data and who you want to compare him to. Trading him for Herro is insane. Hate Green all you want but understand his most likely to be above average trait (the ability to generate an open look or freethrows for yourself) is the #1 most important thing. If you can break down a defense, you can often learned to pass to the right spots as you progress throughout your career. Herro is better but doesnt have the ceiling. We are still trying to find a Butler or Adebayo.
I know the Lopez deal fell through, but I would still think the Rockets would be looking for another center. A frontcourt rotation of Smith, Sengun, Landsdale, and Green (and Tate?) seems incomplete to me. But I guess they could be doing both. (Looking for a combo guard and a frontcourt addition.)
Are you either Pat Riley or Erik Spolestra? I have been on this site for over 20 years and that sir, might be the worst proposed trade I have ever seen. Congrats.
Yeah, you may be right. I guess there may be quite a few lineups that opt for speed and mobility over size.
If they wanted to add another combo guard they could have added Javon Carter for $7-8 mil. That would have given us shooting and defense.
Another option for backup combo guard besides Javon Carter, was to trade the Wiz a 2nd rounder for Monte Morris like the Pistons did. There were lots of options while we were fumbling around.
players don’t just want money, they want roles and guaranteed minutes. Highly likely whatever guard we add is 3rd string injury insurance
That's going to be a layup line for our opponents. Also, Herro and Green are both bad perimeter defenders. That's definitely not a 40 win team.
So Miami and Portland get Top 10 offensive talents and we get Tyler Herro. And I haven't even gotten to us giving up a 1st round pick because I threw up at the first part.
